Yeah, I have a feeling they are related somehow.

There is a very good chance Kotaro killed Sakura, or at least thats what the show wants us to believe (the Saga license plate, the van being basically the same, Junko's dejavu).

But thats not necessarily the case. If Kotaro and Tae were together, or knew each other then the person that might have killed Sakura could actually be Tae. The prison outfit might be symbolic in that Tae went to prison because of that. The van might have been inherited by Kotaro afterwards.

The show is way more clever than it has the right to be. There's a ton of hints riddled through the scenes, I'm sure if they ever decide to explain who Tae really is it'll make complete sense.

Sakura is a Tokyo native so the same with Kotaro? still why saga of all perfectures to save...i think Kotaro have something to do with Saga and the zombies but is not related to neither zombie girl(maybe Tae as a tinfoil theory)

Sakura can't be a Tokyo native with that accent, can she?

Indeed.

I think some people thought that because she was sending a letter to Tokyo that she was from Tokyo. But if you were a girl who wanted to become an idol, normally moving to Tokyo would be the first step so there's nothing odd in sending such a letter.

Also... the truck that killed her had Saga license plates...

Didn't know a part of Saga region is also place of Shimabara Rebellion, that's news for me.

IMO their default clothing is how audience could guess from which era they are, like how Junko wore serafuku compare to Sakura and Ai who wore blazers. Aside that, yeah, its obvious now that their scar / iconic feat (as if heart jumping out from chest) is telling the cause of their death.

So far only Yuugiri and Tae wore different clothes on the group, theirs definitely not that kind of 90-ish clothes like others; I wonder if Kotaro gave them clothes fitting standard clothes of each era they came from so he can identified it better. Looking at Tae having bandage all over her body with that kind of clothes does make me wonder if she experienced something terrible enough it limiting her ability to think.

There is a translator's note in the first chapter of the manga adaptation that explains that she's speaking in Saga-ben (the Saga dialiect.) There's a good chance she's a local.

I don't think sakura is a native as she got surprise she ended up in saga. Might be from kyushu like Saki too

Did Kotaro try the an early version of the process on himself? That could explain why he never takes off his shades.

He did take a bath and didn't show any scaring despite being immersed into water. Unless he has some sort of mermanent makeup.

Though I guess if you perform the procedure on a fresh corpse and freeze it in that state...

Well... she spoke in Saga dialect from the start and got run over by a truck with Saga license plates. Unless the show presents some evidence of her being from somewhere else I'd say it's a pretty safe assumption that she's from Saga.

With regards to her forgotten memories... I had the following thought: why did Kotarou pick her? What's special about her? (Well, could say the same for Tae as well). Surely Sakura is not the only girl from Saga who wished to become an idol. So far she's sort of been the "every girl" character... but if so, then what's the point in her having forgotten her memories? (ie if that's her thing then wouldn't her keeping her memories be better?)

Most obvious reason I could come up with... is that she's related to Kotarou somehow. He might be her brother for example, and got left distraught at his sister who got killed while just about to step into the world of idols. So perhaps he got interested in show-biz himself. But then things come full circle and Sakura wakes up as a zombie and he runs with it... or he forces her to as part of his weird scheme to grant her wish and turn her into an idol... or something.

Maybe his crazy personality is more of a defence mechanism to keep her distant.

Nice, another Saki based episode this week. My favorite character in the show.

Saki is so cool! Definitely best girl.

The first few seconds of the next ep's preview made me think it would be a Yugiri episode, but apparently not. I really want her to get one.

The girls were... like what she was an idol all along?

Something amazing have been the high level of characther development, Aoi, Junko, Lily/masao and now Saki and how all those have been so well done and unique, show how evolved and are nicely done, seriously few series pull this when started a full fledge screwball comedy.

Saki continues being a best. So far all these characters focused episodes have been great.

Got to love how the girls are standing around stunned while everyone else is cheering on the performance.

My eyes definitely watered up when Saki met Reiko after all these years. I AM somewhat disappointed that Reiko didn't seem to react or give any more thoughts after the game of chicken, though. I get that seeing someone that looks like your old friend coming out of nowhere might not be the best situation for a reunion, but I wish there was more to go off of to fill in my headcanon.

I LOL'd pretty hard when the oh-so-tough middle-school biker (scooter) chicks first turned up...

Saki keeps her promises

Well it all about Saki this time and she died a pretty manly death there Well I guess if your all ready dead you can jump out of a moving van well the drive telling everyone to shut up

That was a very big explosion for a bike
