Maybe a few more episodes of E8, a number of Sigh episodes, the remainder of S1, and an episode of Disappearance...?

...That ends on The Big Reveal.

Is there any decent translations of the little blogs on KyoAni's Haruhi page?
http://www.kyotoanimation.co.jp/haruhi/diary/index.html

They've got updates for:

July 10, 2009
July 3, 2009
June 26, 2009
June 19, 2009

I was speculating to on edit you're own "failure" episode, from various failure episodes. On a plus side on the DVDs, I could watch part one, my favorite "failure" episode, then the solution episode.

While kind of miffed at the number of Endless Eight episodes we've been dealing with so far, if they all come on one disc that you basically can go "Let's just have a random ep in the series", that might be fun. But without that, I'll probably only ever watch the last one again.

Or maybe mix-and-match scenes? That would be fun too...
A way to watch the pretty much exactly the same 'loop' episodes with one in each corner of the screen might be interesting, and the ability to switch the audio. That would be the only way I might actually watch it again. Sure, they're not synched time-wise, but you could still see the differences better.

I played them side by side, minus part one, they all seem to get to the "reveal of the loop" scene right about the same time, even to the point of some lines syncing up, like Mikuru's "explanation" Very trippy

The upcoming DVDs for the new episodes of Haruhi are numbered based on the DVD volume number of the old series chronologically. So Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody would fit on Vol4, and is labeled as such. Since the rest of the releases are all 5.xxxxxxxxx, this means that none of them would chronologically go beyond Vol5 of the original series. Which means the rest of the new episodes would be limited to Endless Eight and Sigh.

No Disappearance this season at all if this is true.

Ah well. Figured.

They're gonna have a lot of pissed-off fans...

A question: Does anyone here know how long before the release of an episode that voice recording is finished?

Completely depends on the production schedule. Can be anywhere between 2 and 8 weeks.

Wonderful. Reportedly, Aya Hirano said something on her blog about "the recording for Endless Eight being finally finished" or something like that.

So between like two and eight more endless eights, guys.

People would be pissed off more if Disappearance is squeezed into the few remaining episodes without time to play out fully.

If it is confirmed that Disappearance would be animated in a separate season very soon, like Clannad Afterstory did, then the rage would actually decrease.

But of course, KyoAni would never tell us. Not until the last minute.

I think KyoAni worships some kind of rage-demon that requires tribute and sacrifices.

You know, I actually think we're the demon-worshippers in this scenario.

Does that mean there's 7 episodes of Endless Eight?

No, I dun think it can be interpreted like that, can it?

You see, it's some kind of nefarious plot to generate sufficient outrage across the globe for the rage-demon to harvest.

Obviously it must be a specific type of outrage because there's much more efficient ways to generate... outrage.

No, it can't. Those are clearly 6x2 + 1x1 episode listings (with DVD #s less than 6). That is 13 of the 14 episodes and the 14th being vol 4 aka BLR.
DVD 6 = eps 12/13 S1 (Live + Sagittarius)
DVD 7 = ep 14 S1 (Someday)

Ok, so if Disappearance is coming in the Second Season (An entirely new season... or something...), are they going to go standard chronological order or are they going to go mental again?
