Name intepretation

Time for a semi fun topic. You might learn something ^^

**Narumi Takayuki
Narumi = A roaring sea....... *snort* excuse me.
Takayuki = A child who respects his family

**Suzumiya Haruka
Suzumiya = A Soothing Shrine / Palace / Sanctuary
Haruka = distant and faraway

It's noteworthy that they changed the OP sequence starting episode 7. This is to signify that Haruka is no longer a memory and is back in the "ring". Time frame 00:56 for Onigiri versions.

**Suzumiya Akane
Akane = A reddish tint. Kinda fits her.

**Hayase Mitsuki
Hayase = Fast flowing shallow streams of water
Mitsuki = Her name is made up of the Kanji for "moon" and "water". On one hand it could mean tranquility on the other it could mean her constant changing of emotions.

And yeah, Mitsuki is very water oriented. Blue hair, blue eyes, a swimmer, and is very much like water emotionally; shifting from tranquil streams to fierce waves.

These names are written in KANJI

Haruka's name is not spelt "Haru" - "Ka"

It's spelt "Haruka"

Do you understand now?

Hmmm... interesting trivia.

I have read similar stuff about these before. Some of these surnames used in manga and anime are actually made up by the creator to represent the character traits. Does anyone know which of these are uncommon or just madeup?

"Kimi ga Nozomu Eien" = 君が望む永遠

君 = you
望む = wish/hope
永遠 = eternity

hence, "The Eternity You Wish For"

I thought Haruka just meant "distant and faraway"?

Mitsuki's name fits her well, and it's concidential how a swimmer is a Hayase.

There are 4 conjis in the title, one for "you wish" and one for "forever"

yes haruka doesnt really mean faraway memory, but just faraway, as an adjective
