Spoiler for iM@S 06 - You Can't Spell "Fancy Name" Without "Fame":

I suppose this could be considered the first major breakout into sort-of stardom for some of the group. Some interestinf dynamics in this three person unit here, mostly with Miki being surprised she didn't get into it, and with it breaking up the twins. Again, sort of. As shown at the end of the episode, everyone is still at 765 together, and side projects can't get everyone involved.

What was most noteworthy about this episode was that, besides marking a turning point, despite being where Ryuuguu Komachi came into being, the episode didn't focus on them. It focused on the others, trying to not lose their own shot at stardom. And they're making progress too. Not as noticeable or as filled with bright, bold outfits, but it's there.

Again, I must commend the show for portraying the dancing with mostly hand drawn animation and not creeping me out. That's one area where CGI still needs some work before it can overcome the uncanny valley. The other area I wish to praise is the ending mural. Several pixels wide, but the entire cast is there. It looked really good.

Next week looks to be the most of slice-of-life-ish episode to date. To which I say, "Let's get this started."

Now that was a good live concert. Good movement.
For instance, there was this show that had live concerts in the previous season, but although that had a lot of movement too, the movement was unnatural and the character's design was like a different person's. Of course, that show itself wasn't any good, but anyways, it isn't good to just move a lot. It has to be sharp... and natural.
Sometimes, you watch a show and one part suddenly starts moving a lot more than normal. Unnatural, gross...

But this was good.
Just that seeing these three... and this song... makes me worried about the future.

Azusa's old hairstyle was better.
I wonder why they chose one of the twins... I thought one of their charm points was being twins, yet now split up... (Then again, according to the staff of the 2nd game, their charm point was appealing to lolicons *snort*)

The insert song for Ep 6 is "Smoky Thrill." I has a different sound to it from other songs we have heard thus far. Not my thing.

The ED6 song is "THE IDOLM@STER." If they're going to do a repeating ED, this is their best song for it. It's sung by everyone. Still on track for 25 different EDs by my count.

So many mistakes from producer-san this episode. You can't help but feel bad for him. In the end, it seemed like he didn't really do anything to fix the mistakes but apologize to everyone. He might get better, but he certainly lost to Ritsuko this ep.

Hilarious misunderstanding by Miki. She was very cute as always in this ep.

Oh, and donuts aren't good if you're an idol, but they're young so I guess it doesn't matter much.

Smoky Thrill is Ryuuguu Komachi's image song from the IM@S 2 game. Much like Overmaster from IM@S SP, it's supposed to sound different. I don't really feel one way or the other about Smoky Thrill, but I really like Overmaster.

They've been re-recording songs with all the idols singing at once. The version of The world is all one!! from the first episode with everyone singing together doesn't exist on any of the released CDs so far, for example.

There is so much music associated with this franchise that they could have a different OP and ED song, and multiple insert songs every episode, and still not cover every released track. You can gawk at the sheer volume of discs released here:

Another good episode. Can't wait to see Yayoi's family in the next episode.

• the girls are generic, but not in the anime kind of way; they just feel like really simple normal girls
• can't recognize any of the seiyuus but they're doing a great job
• there are a lot of characters so it's hard to get bored with any one of them

Just my opinion, but i disagree with most of your points. It just had so many of those "ugh, don't do that moments" that i had to pause the thing for minutes before watching the rest. I skipped to the climax of episode 3 about a quarter way through, and looking at things, i didn't miss much. We don't know anything about the girls except for their personality (which is unbelievably generic, so i assume that's not the part you're talking about). And there are too many characters. For an anime only viewer like me, i can't remember all the names, much less link them to a face. I know Yukiho and Chihaya because of their episodes, but no one else.

I'm an anime only viewer. I got it by about the 2nd episode. I remember them by the charm points:
Haruka: Cute, energetic, extroverted
Yayoi: Youngest, most energetic, highest pitch voice
Ami/Mami: Twins, annoying. Mami is the long left tail, Ami is the short right tail
Iori: Kugimiya Rie, rich girl, tsundere, spoiled.
Miki: The blond, lazy, sleepy.
Hibiki: Tan, energetic, extroverted, little fang, Hamuzo (hamster)
Yukiho: Shy, introverted
Chihaya: The best singer, stoic, introverted
Makoto: Tomboy
Takane: White hair, princess (formal way of speaking), strange/mysterious
Azusa: Oldest, older sister type, largest breasts
Ritsuko: 765's other producer. They seem to have only two. Glasses girl.
Otonashi: The secretary
Chief: Owner of 765 pro. Old guy. Might be as perverted as producer-san.

"Ugh" moments:
The only one I can think of is Yukiho's "Yeeeeeeeeah!" in Ep. 3. I think most people find what you are referring to cute and endearing.

Honestly, I have trouble telling Haruka and Yukiho apart sometimes [and I can't tell Ami and Mami apart even if they have distinguishing features] but otherwise I've caught onto most of the character's names.

The only names I remember from the series are Miki and Producer-san but otherwise I can tell them apart by their personality/physical traits (e.g. "oh it's that girl who gets scared easily, her episode was fun...").

I tend to tell them apart by the fact Haruka tends to have hair ribbons or whatever and Mami'sslightly cuter than Ami/has her hair hung to the right instead of aiming to the left.
