Some impressive turnaround time on getting the references in there. Most Kamen Rider jokes in anime are geared more towards the Showa era (with a lot of the Heisei era ones being in long runners or kids' shows), so seeing a show aimed at the late night crowd and packed with references to modern Riders (though some old ones are in there... in more than one way) is a real treat. I wonder if the latest novels are referencing OOO and Fourze as freely as this early material did Den-O and Decade.

Yeah his Mythos score should be higher if it's just knowledge based. He's a lovecraft fan.

The thing is with Mythos scores is that they're inversely proportional to how sane a person is, as you actually DEDUCT the Mythos number from 99 to get your maximum Sanity Points. As far as I've seen, Mahiro isn't quite insane. Yet. Also it does look like he's making those SAN saves, aside from that one instance with the Night Gaunt... Plus he IS a student. Having more than 60 on a skill, even the Mythos, would be strange, except for library work...

Stupid little sidebar of a question, but what's with Kuuko's little "po" when she's gushing about Nyarko? She does it a couple of times in episode 3. I assume it's some kind of onomatopoeia, but I can't figure out what for. A sigh, maybe?

I have never played CoC but I remember reading that in those extraordinary instances an investigator finishes three scenarios he usually learns one or more magic spell or gets some kind of magic item but so far Mahiro gained nothing that I can see, I suppose he is lucky for being alive and keeping a semblance of sanity (Stockolm syndrom anyone?).

It's an exaggerated sigh, kind of like "pft" in some Western comics.

Indeed, surviving a Call of Cthulhu campaign with the same character is a feat in of itself. Besides, Mahiro has his fork (which I suspect is the only reason his Sanity points are being refilled), and the box which he can use to summon Nyarlko, so I suppose he DID gain something for the little jaunt to Rl'yeh.
