Plot Summary

Fashionable Yuzu imagined the first day at her new school she transferred to after her mother's remarriage a bit differently; she didn't know it'd be an ultra-strict and conservative girls' school. So instead of a sweet high-school romance, she butts heads with the stern student council president Mei—who turns out to be her new step sister. And she has to learn that hate and attraction are often not that far apart.

I am pleasantly surprised that Citrus is getting an anime adaptation.

I hope that it is treated with the care and respect some of the more 'risky/honest' titles of this year got.

Is there any indication as to when in 2017 it will be happening?

A Kiss and a White Lily can barely be called yuri since it's just one side-couple that is openly gay. It's the best couple but they're just one of many. I'm looking forward to seeing the chess chapter animated though.

Bloom into you isn't exactly that yuri either as it hasn't done more than a couple of one-sided kisses and the lead couple is still insecure about their feelings.

Citrus goes much further in that regard. While it's not full-blown yuri either the other two are highschool romance with yuri subtext at most.

Maybe but I have seen similar character design before nearly hentai or so. So it's not that far from a yuri instead of shoujo ai. I'm sure the manga will head there sometime.
Hell if Trash can be called Yuri, I don't see why Citrus can't. lol

Okay, the reason that Citrus get anime are:
1- The drawning is pretty
2- The yuri development quick, the mc accept her yuri feeling since chapter 1
3- Mostly drama is around on yuri, except for the first chapter, there is not hetero to worry
4-A lot kiss and cuddling.
I will say that Citrus is good example of how yuri manga should be, barely male relevance, the only had to be defeated quicly, a lot yuri development and keep pure for mostly time.

Pure...? From what I remember (to be fair it was long ago, and I never finished it) it was fairly trashy. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing, but Citrus is not Marimite.

Also I remember that Citrus had this curious thing going on, where you could've replaced all the girls with guys and it would've just naturally transitioned into middling, generic BL. Not sure what this says about Citrus or middling, generic BL, but it was weird.

But I guess the art is pretty so if it manages to make a good transition into animation it should be at least nice to look at.

I've just read the first volume, since it's being published in my country and I like to read it oficially as long as I can, but it seemed to me that if it got a boy as a MC it would be more like the typical romance shonen... I enjoyed it, I'm not going to lie, but the feeling was that, it was not the same sensation I got from Girlfriends or Sasameki Koto
