Though I'd have to say that unless you use Launchy (which I guess all my posts regarding it get ignored...or something?), it's hard to keep it under 10...
But if you use Launchy, you can easily get by with just the recycle bin on your desktop and you'll be fine.

Also, have any of you considered using the quick launch bar on Windows XP or Vista? It's built right into the computer (right click taskbar > toolbars > quick launch), and it'll cut down on desktop icons, as well.

I've always used quick launch, it's very handy and I can't stand to have any icons on the desktop anymore.

it barely does anything to my system. No lag at all. Also, it's not like VLC where your desktop icons become unusable, everything still works.

=/ strange. I've not had that problem. usually it will refuse to play a video, but if I just close the window (not quit the program) and reopen the video, it works fine. And that's only after rewinding and watching the same scene over 20,000x because I like it.

Actually I agree, I seem to always have a problem with using DivX on my mac. I finally got irritated enough to just quit using it all together.

DivX crashed all the damn time in Windows for me which is why I switched to Zoom Player.
