Ren has a lot of reasons to chase after Rintarou because her interests extends to the following:

As an opponent: For someone who managed to pull of the same achievement of sinking an entire building with a punch in way less more time, why wouldn't you be curious to the extent a person like this could go? The strong seek the strong.

As a promise holder: Someone took up the promise (Convenant of Hagen) to fight your little sister and essentially "educate" her into why it's lonely to be on the top of the chain. You don't often see people risk their school life to fight off a hate driven dragon from time to time just to make the point.

As a partner: Setting Meru's advice aside, Ren appeared like she was used to be on the receiving end of people's attention when the third years approached her. So when she meets a guy who neithers shows interest in her fighting capabilities or appearance (The two factors that made her stood out in school), it probably piqued her curiosity furthermore into why he's different from the usual men that engage the shameful ritual of flirting.

It makes somehow perfect sense that the author introduces her this time around. I'm a bit skeptical though about where the author will pull his endgame opponents from for MC as I wouldn't want to see the disciplinary squad end up being team rocket of DR.
