Haha I just loved the first ep. Though it's weird hearing Grimmjow's seiyu talking so gay I immediately loved Shirogane and his silliness.
The story concept is not bad either. light and darkness, shadows..sounds pretty cool. Their ghost outfits were not bad either (they look like the typical gay attire but anyway) Ahhh, so many good shows this season XD

This show, as devoid of much originality (a bit Bleach-ish to me. The whole light/dark balance thing and the whole spiritual crossover) and little production values, I find it a fun watch every time I watch it. A yet another worthy shonen style show IMO. The characters are all fun to watch in their interaction, I don't mind the generic archetypes IMO. Suzuno is such a cute "Sakura" type of law and order girl and Shirogane is so deliciously gay.
Also, Shirogane reminds me a LOT of Yuber from Suikoden games. Maybe Yuber came first? Shirogane? Which is it? |

I think so. While Amatsuki was ok to watch, Crystal Blaze didnt do it for me. Im very picky with my anime series and to be honest i do complain a lot about cliches, stereotypes and stuff. So if you like shows like Monochrome Factor, go on and watch it. I absolutely cant see myself doing that =) |

I've seen the first 2 eps and I can't help but laugh at Shirogane's seductiveness. Looks like it's going to be a monster of the week thing with some background revealed every ep. It may not be original, but I find it very amusing. Looks like I found my guilty pleasure of the season |

And I haven't read the manga, so I can't speak to that. All I know is that Shounen-ai stuff isn't for me. Ah well, to each their own right. |

Nah, it has some nice action too, despite the silliness.

Well, I was impressed with the first episode even with its "I-had-a-normal-life-why-do-I-have-to-beat-the-bad-guys" thing, except this time, he wants to do it since he's so immensely bored. Shirogame is my new favorite character! I love how he always tries to find a way to stay near Akira. The classroom scene was priceless!!!!! I truly hope to see more of Monochrome Factor!!!!!!(very excited!)

XP so, i'm totally straight, but I can't help but laugh at all the shounen-ai in this so far. I don't know why. it's just funny. Same with Nabari no ou. For the first 15 minutes I went.....is that a boy...or a girl o_O
then i finally figured it out and burst out laughing. sorta the same thing with Monochrome Factor. When i saw shirogane I went. is he gay.....or just joking... then he was totally gay and I burst out laughing.

Well after 2 episodes watched back to back the only interesting part of the show is the AkiraXShirogane moments and their costumes...The rest is pretty meh for me right now.
Hopefully the plot will start developing soon or they can atleast start fighting some more ascetically interesting baddies...

I finally got around to watching the first episode. I actually thought it was a lot of fun if not a bit chaotic. The only thing that almost made me cut it off with the girl Aya. She grated on every nerve in my body, I'm hoping that in the future she'll calm down.. A LOT.
Otherwise it was a pretty good episode and I'll be watching the second one pretty soon. |

Ok I just watched episode 1.
I don't really know what to say or what my opinion is. I don't really watch yaoi or yuri kind of shows. I'm a little homo phobic. This is the first one I watched that is when two guys.... you know... this genre or whatever. Now i have nothing against gay people, I know some of them irl, I don't find it disgusting when two guys kiss or whatever as long as it's not me. Imagining myself kissing a guy and feeling his hair is yucky. It's probably due to reading too much novels written by women and when the sex scene comes, it's totally in the women's stand point and not like one of those hustler or porn kind of scenes. However in this anime, I find it surprising that when those two guys kiss, it's kind of entertaining. Maybe if he kiss the little one, I bet that would be more awesome. Although it is a little yucky but at the same time, I find it cool, awesome and pretty. Edit: How can I describe how I feel about this anime? It has that "Nooo, don't do it! That's wrong! Those are not the rules society gave us" but at the same time it has that "Oooh that's cool, and nice. Maybe the main character will be gay and he will be with this loli guy. Oooh that's evil, it reminds me of those priests molesting little kiddies. Hmmm.... I want to see it happen!!" It's like this.... for some reason Kodomo no Jinkan to me is ok but the possibility that he will go with a little guy, there's some sort of moral or ethical issues popping in my head which probably shouldn't be there in the first place. |

The action in this show is a better filler than standard school life filler for what this anime is; a shonenai comedy. The fighting is generic, but the comedy is decent enough to get me laughing...so I tend to see the anime from that perspective.
To FuzzyWuzzy- You say you are a little homophobic but seem to want to move past that if I am reading your post right. I would suggest that the best cure for any phobia is to confront it. Read more of it and watch more of it to understand it. If you can understand a thing, you can defeat a phobia. Also Akira is below drinking age...but likely of legal age otherwise. Its much less questionable than Kodomo no Jikan thats for sure. |

Just watched episode 3. The comedy still catches me off-guard. I don't expect it when it happens giving it the additional boost of the element of surprise. I don't mind that comedy is low level slapstick. A little slapstick every now and then never hurt anyone.
I didn't expect Kengo to develop the ability to see the shadow world. I thought that was going to remain Akira's secret. I figured he'd have to dance around the issue for the entire run of the series. Why I thought that, I don't know, but I did. I'm wonder if there's any hidden meaning to the fact that I could remember Kengo's and Shirogane's names, but I had to look at some other posts to remember Akira's name?
