Is this the beginning of the end or the end of the beginning...

Or is the end is the beginning is the end is the beginning is the end...

Either way...sigh...sounds like they're ready to go full shounen, full isekai or Miyazaki clone.

They'll need to eventually learn that pouring money doesn't magically summon animators or material to animate

It looks alright so far. It couldn't get worse than the game industry. The horror story of what these funders did to the game industry is becoming widely known. Sony took the bite and Nintendo didn't let them mess around. The financial institution use (not their money) to become the stakeholders of game company. As the stakeholders, they started to dictate the direction of game making by inserting their political agenda. Due to DEI funding, games have failed miserably(both earning and reputation). The financial institution don't care about the failures, because their investment coming from people's retirement fund.

Fearmongering as usual, nothing but pure speculation.

These type of threads hardly surprise me anymore, especially when people in this section use Yellowflash or Hero Hei as "reliable" sources.

On the other side, VISA and Mastercard are exerting influence on what's acceptable on digital platforms.

The reputation of blackstone/blackrock's deed is well known.

In contrast, China's Tencent has joint venture for audience for its demography. Based on Toho's old animation, 花の子ルンルン(The Flower Child Lunlun). A sequal/parody/spin-off is made. The old school magical girl used to help people, by feeding people with five loaves and two fish. By the end of each episode, Lunlun's love interest explained flower of the week and floriography . The new magical girl are fighters who seek the lost trace of Lunlun. The new show is called 花仙子之魔法香对论 Flower Fairy's Magical Theory of Relativity. The title is Chinese, so it does not have plan to show to audience of other demography.

You know it is sad when you are more willing to give your vote of confidence to Chinese (Tencent) than Americans (Blackrock). We are seeing the ongoing trainwreck Blackrock is causing on western entertainment industry. You really think they understand anime and what make it unique compared to Marvel etc?
