Maki's self-sabotage was several times worse because she was being tsundere even when Tsubasa was still single.

Kana might have missed the boat, but she thought the ship sailed a long time ago. She had no chance because Aqua pushed her away.

Ruby left on her own because she hated his guts and wouldn't believe anything Aqua said anyway, and Akane agreed to break up to respect his wishes.

Kana just straight up said no, he's stupid for trying keep his distance out of goodwill.

Kana is making up for the time she spent not talking to Aqua, including giving him his nickname. But as he reveals to Memcho, he's not about being happy. He's using everything he can to get to daddy-dearest, and then he goes to his adoptive father and tells him he knows the name of their actual father and needs his help, while we see the other guy preparing the 15 years of lies script.

I knew their conversation last week was odd. I don't know how he's going to use her but Aqua made it clear this week he's getting close to Kana again to advance his revenge.

And he doesn't want to kill his father, after all. He has something much, much worse planned for him.

I'm sure Aqua wants to make sure he's publicly cancelled, ostracized, and loses everything he has first.
