Bleach is a popular manga so anything remotely similar to it will get associated even when the connection is somewhat vague. Yea it sorta looks like Ichigo's hollowed form but I can probably found a lot of manga (like Tokyo Ghoul) that does that half man half demon face and I doubt that they all are associated with Bleach.

Basically from what I'm getting from the spoilers is that Azami's plan is actually the opposite of what everyone expected, everyone thought that he would impose ridiculous standards that would ensure that more people drop out but instead he's making it so that everyone can pass as long as they follow and copy his teachings.

I can see why this would be attractive to most of Tootsuki, after all with it's 90 something percent failure rate it's very easy for the common fodder to drop out just by a whim of one of the judges or one of it's various random tests. If you're suddenly told in this situation that as long as you follow what they teach you and they'll even provide you all the necessary tools to learn, and as long as you learn you won't fail I imagine many people would take that route instead.

On the other hand what he's doing is restricting creativity outside what he wants to teach by taking away all the various clubs. Not only that but reading into it further he's restricting competition, without a merit based system there's no incentive to Shokugeki this is good for Azami as it ensures that his side of the elite 10 have no reason to Shokugeki.

I can now understand why a guy like Kuga is against it. If you think about it Kuga is one of the most competitive and thrill seeking in the Elite 10, if you make it so that there's no incentive to Shokugeki and not only that the rules limit the extent of your cooking of course someone like Kuga would be pissed. It's probably the same for Souma, Hayama, Ryo, Alice etc. since they're all competitive people that get off on flaunting their unique style of cooking. Hayama would be doubly pissed since the Shiomi Seminar would be disbanded.

On the other hand I can't think of why Rindou would support Azami. What Azami is doing is basically the opposite of what Rindou wants. What she's shown thus far is that she's thrill seeking and loves a variety of food, Azami is doing the opposite of that. He's limiting food, limiting competition and making the Tootsuki more stale. I guess there's some other thing that Azami promised that hasn't been revealed yet that's attracting Rindou.

For Tsukasa I can understand he actually seems like a nice guy and maybe he feels that if Azami's system is more fair to the students since a lot more people would pass. Eizen's presumably in it for the money or power or some cliche shit like that. IDC about the rest of the Elite 10.

Indeed. I was surprised with his plan. I am expecting him to reduce the graduation rate to 0.1%. I am used to joke about how he will increase the graduation from 1% to 20% but I am never expected Azami really went this direction, and we know this is the most sensible route for any school.

Azami: Ok, here is the drill..Instead of following the old Tootsuki's traditional where only 10% of the students will graduate...I will make 20% !!!!!

What if her main purpose to support Azami's reform plan is not about herself and thrill seeker? If we look at different angle, maybe she was angry/sad that her many friends got expelled in the past simply because they weren't lucky or talented as her? I mean, just look at the Citrus boy in the camp training. He was expelled just like that just because he used a hair cream that the instructor did not like it.

Now I can understand why she said that Soma will sided with her if he knew the plan because we all know Soma is probably cannot accept it if his friends got expelled from the school in the future especially for the BS reasons. He was lucky for managed to save Megumi from getting expelled in the past but how many times he can pull that miracles for his friends?

Maybe you are right about others for disagreed with this plan, but I am seriously can see Soma on the fence about it. It is all boiled to whether he wants to graduate with his friends together or he will graduate alone as top tier chef without friends.

Yup, I can see the reasoning on why Tsukasa for supporting Azami because he is definitely seen as a nice guy. As for Eizan, maybe he felt it is hassle to find a new pawn if his pawns keep getting expelled for not being as good as him every week. It is hard to find a good help nowadays.

Not everything revolves around her you know? As a dad he wasnt good, but as the chief who knows, this system might work or not given that he is pretty much making a small society where some students will be elites while other are the commoners or middle class. If it not has utter motives(which I doubt) then in some aspects is better, but at the long run it deviates from the original run of just polishing the best(which I thought he will support or even focus more on that).

Well, sure, there's some leniency so that more students have a chance to graduate, but what sucks is that there's no more incentive for conducting Shokugeki meaning that there's no more competitiveness, and plus, since Azami's making it so that you just have to copy him to pass, there's no creativity either, as some others on here have said. I can definitely see Souma not liking this, although it's also possible he might like the idea of his friends not having to fail or drop out. But on that note, you have to consider that all of his friends will be able to be okay even under Senzaemon's rule because most of them aren't the kind that would need him to save them. Even Megumi, as she is now, shouldn't need him to save her anymore. So yeah, unless there's something good that Rindou knows about concerning Azami's plan that Souma doesn't know about yet, I can't see why Souma would like it and I also don't understand why Rindou is okay with it (unless Noobita is right about how she didn't like that her friends couldn't graduate with her and had to drop out).

Anyway, yeah, this chapter also has some Erina in it, but the main focus isn't on her. The main focus is on Azami's plans and ideology.
