Actually it is more of a taunt, I think he was not expecting her to attack and burn down a Mountain. The Mountain is a source of faith for all the Japanese people, not many will even consider attacking it nevertheless even to burn it all down. Another thing is considering that one, all his forces are in the Mountain, lighting it up with fire will kill them all slowly but surely.

1 episode to go and the final episode is "conquest"
I don't think Sagara died. Its been hinted when Hanzou and Hanbei-chan's Shinigami and Sagara are talking that Hanzou has a plan (or so I think he has) They still don't have a reason to kill the MC and this is a light novel and ongoing one so there is no way the MC will die. Its not like I'm reading one of butchered gen's work or kagami's work

I hope so as well, because Nobuna is suppose to unite Japan. She isn't even close to that yet, well she got Kyoto I say she done good so far. Though Kyoto is a slice of the pizza, you would want the whole thing.

You guys shouldn't question the death, coz it's obviously fake.
Zenki is the familiar of Hanbei and Saru is the master of Hanbei, do you think he'd propose something that would really cause harm to his master's master? As for why, Dousan's son lives by the code of samurai, so to have him promise and to witness Yoshimaru's death himself is the only way for him to spare the rest of his companions. So part of Saru's objective was achieved. I think the question is HOW they managed it, to make it so believable. Well I guess a ninja and a familiar can manage to create some kind of an illusion. Juubei though, I doubt they foresaw her coming back to save Saru, so her fate is pretty much up to the heavens. I don't think she's dead though. The mystery is why is Saru going into hiding when he's actually safe and sound. He's definitely scheming something together with Hanzou and Zenki. Going back to Nobuna would make her happy but their 15,000 troops still can't overcome the alliance of 30,000+ men and win this war. There's a saying that in order to deceive the enemy, you need to deceive your friends. He's probably going to show up just at the right moment to save Nobuna next episode.
