I'll have to rewatch episode 11 if there is that much improvement.

Illya looks a lot better in that visual than other appearance she's had in this series imo.
Looks closer to her Fate/Stay design which I <3.

Glad to hear about the improvements. I was at least hoping they'd do what they could to clean that episode up. That episode falling flat on its face definitely hurt the overall enjoyment of 3rei.

Still looking forward to the movie though and the key visual is nice

Especially when that was the episode all the manga readers were waiting for from the start of 3rei. Particularly since they had handled a similar sequence so well in season one (Archer Install vs Saber Alter).

They need to have fixed more than just the art and animation on this episode to make it worthy of the source material, though. Almost nothing about it was done right, to the point where people are worried that the movie won't handle things correctly.

Really see no reason why one episode would "hurt" 3rei. People might claim it was "THE" episode they waited for but what came before that was just as important and just as good and they nailed it. One bad episode in over 4 seasons of greatly executed material is literally nothing big.

When a particular part of a story is poorly done, especially when it happens near the end of a run, you're damn right it can sour the experience. Frankly, "nailing" the parts leading up to it only make it worse and more disappointing. And sorry, but what came before was not "just as important". Shirou's big moment is literally the start of the climax of the season. There was no more important episode.

Angelica explaining to Illya the stakes and Illya's decision is THE climax. Illya experiencing her own "Heavens Feel" route through 3rei is the point of 3rei.

Shirou's big moment, while epic, its just one of many pay off moments that leads in to the actual explanations.

Would I have liked them to nail it perfectly? Sure. But the rest being great still outweighs any disappointment i had. Thats more than I can say about FSN adaptations so its good enough.

I think it's telling that I was about to correct you that this season of 3rei didn't even cover up to your idea of the climax, when I realized that you were talking about Angelica's explanation to Illya, et al, before Shirou showed up...

Yeah that was painful. I mean for the whole thing that was the episode I was waiting on. I mean there are important episodes and parts of the story yes. But that was the moment of epic greatness that was waited on. It wasn't just Shirou, that was a big moment for Kuro as well.

True enough that it feels like that episode would have needed to be completely overhauled. But any improvements I'll take.

At least the PVs for the movie look pretty good. I'd hope at least they can nail the movie right. So far feeling good about it, but we'll have to wait and see.

Your point being?
It does not change the the story climax of first half of 3rei is. The protagonist is forced to contextualize what has been going on and what has happened from the start and is forced to make a decision. That's Illya's ideal conflict and her decision.

Shirou is badass and all but he is not a main character and he is mainly A Motivation rather than the focus. Now if they mess up the movie then that's another thing, but as far as present day narrative goes, Illya is the central focus and they pulled off everything regarding that perfectly.

Perfectly his parts would have been done just as great, but alas that did not happen. Alas thankfully the actual NARRATIVE highpoints like the said Angelica explanation were intact, so I can excuse one FIGHT being bad. I am not watching fate for "teh actionz".

What you are doing is literally discrediting the rest of the story if I get your implication of this post of yours correctly. This is not Shirou's story. This is Illya's story and her development.

. Just adding to an existing blaze at this point. No complaints if this movie is as awesome as it appears to be. After some disappointing elements in 3rei, I'd be up for a purely entertaining film adaptation.

OH YEA! That PV was literally perfect.

This is shaping up to be THE best fate this year and that PV honestly made me remember of just how well written and badass this story arc is.
