Having never read the novels... episode 5 was amazing! The best so far for sure. I'm glad they decided to extend it. If this is the result.. man they should have (like others said) made it an 8 episode(or longer

) ova. Did the top brass just not realize what a potential goldmine they were sitting on until it was too late?

They could do worse, imagine everything ends in 4 Episodes as planned.

Only by intervention of Fukui did the project extented to 7 Episodes

bleh... I really can't wait for age to end and more UC to begin(If the origin is done half as well as unicorn it will be sweet!).

That's probably giving him a little too much credit - if the UC OVA didn't sell like hotcakes in all areas I would think that no matter how hard he intervened it wouldn't make a lick of difference to the episode count.

Good point, episode count wouldn't be increased to 7 if the OVA's reception is poor...

Weren't the original publications bestsellers ? Fukui must be in some postition of importance that they manage to grant him a 2 episode extention from the original count of 4.

Still, I acknowledge the fact that UC must have sold well enough for the executives to grant Fukui an extra episode to wrap things up here.

Used to it now. In fact, I wasn't expecting much after watching the first 2 episodes and ain't going to waste efforts preaching to the choir.

Haven't watched Eps 5 yet so I wouldn't know T-T.

And no, I'm not expecting "faithful" adaptations. I am expecting good storytelling unlike Eps 4 who feels too rushed and too slow at some parts. And this comes from a non Novel reader

I don't know..... Given how it has been stated that the anime and novels can be different but still all canon, is it a bad thing for the anime to not be that faithful to the novels as long as the story itself is coherent?

BTW, I would like to know how the anime is different from the novels.

There can be multiple canons. Look at Evangelion, it has an anime/movie and the new age Movies. Both are canon and go out of their way to ignore the others events, this way old age fans wont get angry about their Evangelion being retcon'd and the new age guys wont have to watch the old series.

Consider them alternate universes or something.

Man I really wish I could see this episode. My computer had a crash (again god damn it), so now I'm forced to internet browse through my PS3. The only streaming site I had success with, is animeultima. The only video that works for Unicorn ep 5, is incredibly fucked up. The video is like....really really fucking slow, so everything sounds distorted and awful.

Perfect animation and action as usual. Those last 5 minutes....HNNNNNNNG. So good to see Full Frontal again.
