Excited to watch:
Jojo - because it's Jojo, do I even need to explain? Haikyuu - manga is pretty good, actually. Baby Steps - this goes further than "pretty good". It's manga is one of the best sports manga I've ever read. Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei - I was ready to write this off because I don't really think the LN is cut out for an anime due to too much detail on everything, but a combo of Madhouse + 2-cours got me excited again. Mushishi: Zoku-Shou: It's first season was brilliant, and the OVA that aired recently too, so of course I'm gonna watch this. Captain Earth: You can count on BONES for good animation and the premise seems like those type of mechas I highly enjoy. Ping Pong: A reknowned director adaptating a high acclaimed manga about ping-pong, arguably one of my favorite sports. Will try out a few episodes: Everything else besides sequels to animes I haven't watched, otome game adaptations, kids shows and yaoi. Last edited by leokiko; 2014-02-05 at 22:01. |

JoJo.
I don't need to say anything more Soul Eater not. Manga was readable, but nothing really special. Guess I'll give it a try. Fairy Tail. I don't expect any rise in quality, but I'm intrested, who will voice new characters. Their choice of seiyuus are usually great. Black Bullet. And the main dish for me - Sengoku Musou OVA. One of my favorite videogames is finally have an anime, even if my favorite characters aren't in. |

I'm still going to have to do my research because for the first time in a while I actually have no background in the majority of these series except for Baby Steps, and on that end I'm not finding their decision for that series quite favorable. I did sort of like Yama no Susume though.
On the other hand I really want to see what Kyoto Animation actually plans to do with Tamako Love Story.

Will watch for sure:
Jojo's bizarre adventure - It's Jojo Mekaku City Actors - Shaft + double Kana Date a live II - First season was okay Gochuumon wa usagi desu ka? - Looks cute as fuck Captain Earth - Mecha + Bones Mushishi 2 - AOTY and future masterpiece Sidonia no Kishi - I love Nihei Akuma no Riddle - Yuri + assassins Yama no susume 2 - Liked the first season Love Live 2 - ditto Maybe: Soul Eater not! Gokukoku no Brynhildr Bokura wa minna kawaisou Mangaka-san to assistant-san - already read the manga, whether I watch will depend on the voice cast Baby Steps - the manga seems great, but I'm worried about the direction of the anime

This spring looks pretty bleak so far... The series I'm interested in:
Captain Earth - the one I'm the most hyped for. Mushishi 2 - the one I'm also hyped for, although I'm a bit wary... Kamigami no asobi - the one I'm looking forward to because oh, all the lolz, give them to me. Mekaku City Actors - maybe. If it doesn't turn out to be too light novel-ish. Dai Shougun - I really like the concept and the designs, but the tagline doesn't fill me with much hope. Hitsugihime no Chaika - only because Bones is involved, otherwise it doesn't seem too promising. (Also, Trabant. ) |

Ara ara second season of Puchim@s lets go!!!
Black Bullet read the manga the setting wasn't bad. Mahouka simply because of the magic system. No Game, No Life the sibling relationship is interesting Ryūgajō Nanana no Maizōkin the plot sound like a romcom so I'm in.

Plan on watching:
Black Bullet- thought the LN looked really interesting, plus there's Shirō Sagisu on the OST. Jojo- cuz it's freaking Jojo. Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou- Really liked Love Lab so why not? Want to try out: No Game No Life- as long as it doesn't go sibling complex, might be pretty fun. Mekaku City Actors- haven't watched the music videos but this seems to be the next BRS from what I've been hearing. Read a bit of the manga and liked it as well. Captain Earth- missed out on Star Driver so hopefully it'll be good. Maybe if I'm in the mood for sports shows I might pick up Haikyū and Baby Steps. I think I'll skip out on Knights of Sidonia and check out the manga when I get the chance. Pretty sure most of these will be on CR, just hope I can watch them where I live. |

My list:
Must watch: Jojo's Bizarre adventure - Stardust crusaders. Quote:
Quote:
Hitsugihime no Chaika - Sounds interesting Date A live 2 - Because volume 7 isn't translated yet and Miku is epic. Her interactions with Shidou made me wish he was a girl. Just to see what would happen.(You'll understand if you watch) No game no life - Vibrant colors, interesting designs and promising plot. Why not? Mekaku City Actors - I've read 7 chapters of the manga but it would be nice to see this animated. Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei - I've read up to volume 9 but can't seem to muster up the motivation to continue. Maybe this might do that for me? Either way Miyuki<3333333 and Tatsuya's a boss. Gokukoku no Brynhildr - The plot looks interesting. I've also heard it's a dark story. Why not? On the fence: Akuma no Riddle - I want to get into more Yuri anime and this looks promising but I'm still not convinced. So I'll watch it if I have time and hear good things about it. I've got lots of carry overs and a few comedies that will last me. No shortage of promising shows these past 2 seasons. 2014 isn't doing too badly so far.

Top priority:
Mushishi Second Season: + Hiroshi Nagahama who worked his wonder on Flower of Evil is back with the long-awaited sequel to one of the most well-crafted shows ever made. If the short special earlier this year is any indication then he certainly hasn't lost his touch. Ping-Pong: + It's freaking Maasaki Yuasa adapting a renowned sports manga + noitaminA, how could you not watch this if you're looking for artistic, surreal visuals in anime with unique animation? JJBA: Stardust Crusaders: + So much ham, so much passion, so much STYLE (and hopefully with more animation this time around ) High expectations: Mekaku City Actors + You can always count on SHAFT's artsy style so if they managed to make one of the most by-the-book trope-filled harem rom-com anime that is Nisekoi watchable surely this can only be an improvement - People getting into traffic accidents as premise sounds a bit sketchy Captain Earth + Bones always deliver competent or at least ambitious work - Coffin Princess Chaika + See above - Knights of Sidonia + Sci-fi manga set in space, CG characters don't look too stiff from what I've seen so far - Baby Steps + renowned sports manga - It's Studio Pierrot and NHK so visuals probably won't be the most creative or appealing Haikyuu!! + sports manga - Anime Mirai 2014 Series Moderate-Low expectations: Black Bullet + Set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, well-animated action - Little girls with possibly childish behaviour, show might fail to build up on promising premise (humanity vs. aliens) and focus on aforementioned little girls No Game No Life + Vibrant colour design, interesting setting (Look at these gigantic chess pieces!) - too much time spent on ecchi, not enough on world-building Akuma no Riddle + Lesbian assassins fighting to the death set to lounge music - Looks low-budget, so probably low-standard action scenes We Are All From Kawai-Sō + Vibrant colour design if the preview screencaps are to be trusted - Smells like standard rom-com fanfare with random humour with (possibly) bland protagonist Nanana's Buried Treasure + Neat use of animated tables in the PV, would love to see more of that in the actual show - Magical girlfriend falls into bland protagonist's lap with no to little efforts on his side (via moving into an apartment). Oh, and she's a NEET, so that viewers can identify with her, and a ghost, so sexual harrassment should be totally OK, right? Plus, the PV from 2011 looked terrible and made it look like every single generic LN ever Brynhildr in the Darkness + Possibly aliens? Promise of everything ending in tragedy - Magical girlfriend falls into bland protagonist's lap with no to little efforts on his side (via transfer student), but wait, could she be his deceased childhood friend? Drama ensues (additionally with emotional scenes during rainy nights and swimsuit fanservice) The Irregular at Magic School + It's produced by Madhouse, so perhaps there's some great fight choreography (though the PV - Everything points towards a standard fantasy LN adaption filled with tropes and convoluted elaborations on the oh so special magical concepts specific to this show, coupled with incest pandering, generic male protagonist and bland, smooth-faced character design Last edited by Eudaimonia; 2014-01-28 at 09:56. |
