I have a more radical approach.

SS1 and SS2 would become OVAs like what they're doing with Shana, and instead of trying to lump everything into 1 season, Make Index 3 be only 1 cour covering vol 14,15 and 16. People would be unhappy, but in the long run it would make the entire WWIII story fit better for a 2 cour S4 covering 17, 18, 19 as the first half. And concluding with 20, 21, 22 with the Russia story.

S1 happens right after vol 13 and it's like a rest on the fight or rather their is still a fight but not involving some major battles just a story introducing the 3rd hero of the story. So they could leave that one on an ova or the start of S4 to proper introduce Shiage.

As for S2 which is a collection of events in different date then that would be perfect ova.

i dont really know how much weaker imperfect gabriel is to perfect but if they say imperfect gabriel is 50% of full strength it is still nowhere as strong as aiwass.

they are both angel but with different origin. We can only know for sure if they begun the battle.

And the angel in the term of toaruverse doesn't look like the same as the known angel. When I was rewatching episode 24 of season 1. Tsuchimikado said that a being living in another dimension an existence he knew, an angel. And his referring to Hyouka being a resident of imaginary sector or artificial heaven. So any one who doesn't belong on this dimension or an alien on this dimension can be classified as an angel though an alien of this dimension is different from an alien of this world.

BTW, could Aiwass actually be Satan? I think that DRAGON is kinda like SNAKE. And SNAKE = Satan.

hmm to be exact dragon can be actually referred as good or evil but if we tried to tied it on christian teachings dragon = evil so yes, he could be consider as a devil or satan. But Aiwass doesn't possess evil thoughts like a devil. His pure neutral and like to watch aside in the side lines. His more like a god. Enjoying on how people struggle against their destiny.

Or maybe we're perceiving the Ultimate Evil in the wrong way.

As far as I know, Lucifer longed to become Kamijou, but it doesn't mean that he utilizes evil methods to achieve it.

but going against god is equal to evil. His the law to begin with anything against his will is equal to evil. The point he thinks of over throwing the god meant his evil.

Aiwass should be able to take down a fully powered Gabriel......now Michael OTOH is a different game entirely.

Uriel and Raphael we have to little info to tell.

And no, Accelerator was doing relatively ok until Sweep because Sweep is Gabriel's main attack.....everything else was just like probing attacks or playing.

As for me, I think WW III is the best arc to finish SSIII. But doing that is really difficult since there are 10 volumes(7 arcs) of the novel waiting for adaptation.

I don't think this is likely. I think it'll go like this. Index II will cover volumes 7-13 so:

-SS1: 4 episode OVA (one chapter per episode) starting September next year and lasting into September 2012 (since I think J.C.Staff is going to take break from Index anime next year to make Shana Third).

Index III:

-Volume 14: 4 episodes
-Volume 15: 6 episodes
-Volume 16: 4 episodes
-Volume 17-18: 6 episodes
-Volume 19: 4 episode

-SS2: 4 episode OVA series that will be released while Railgun S2 is airing (whenever it does). Since SS2 really is just a collection of short stories that happen throughout the Index timeline, unlike SS1, they can animate it whenever they want.

It's best to stop Index III at volume 19, and let Index IV will be completely dedicated to the WWIII arc.

Are they taking a break from both of the To Arus, or just Index?

Yes, both Railgun and Index. They can't animate either of them while Shana is running and vice versa.

That aside can you imagine if they had stop the season at vol19? That would be a massive cliffhanger! We're just barely on the edge over some good and they'll cut us off for maybe a whole year!

I was under the assumption we'd get to Vol16 before this season of Index ends, with Acqua making a appearance on that preview a while back. And I think this is from vol16 and not his one-time appearance in Vol13 due to the fact he had his trademark lance/mace with him, which the novels didn't state he had until Vol16.

Also, they showed Terra's guillotine which he only used on vol.14. In the vol.13 he only was talking on the phone with Acqua.
