The Mummy Demastered
There is much to be said about Universal's opening act for their intended 'Dark Universe', and I won't be repeating any of it here. Rather, I will point out that the boffins who gave us Shantae's several at-bats (and Aliens: Infestation among other things are having a go at a proper game adaptation.
The high concept is akin to the ST:TNG episode 'Lower Decks', in that its focus is on what those peripheral characters are doing while our protagonists are dealing with Ahmanet’s shenanigans. Specifically, you're placed in the combat regalia of one of Prodigium's operators, and set loose to deal with those several off-camera incidents. The interesting quirk is this... remember corpse runs in the older Diablo games? Yep, that happens here... except that the 'corpse' is going to be a wight with all the upgrades and weapons they had on hand at death. Guess how you reclaim them.
