I plan on doing a revisit of Michelangelo's 'Creation of Man' ala Code Geass -'Destruction of Man' , and I need some opinions from everyone.
It will be a contrast piece; Lelouch will be the figure on the left being torn away from the figure on the right by death and the weight of his sins. First question being, should the figure on the right be Suzaku or Nunnally? I do not intend for the figure on the right to represent God in any way shape or form, they just need to represent a degree of righteousness for contrast. Second question being, should the angst factor be minimal or should I make it excessively bloody ala some of the neoclassical period morality paintings? |

I vote for Nunnally being the person Lelouch is being torn away from as it seems to me that she was the person Lelouch cared about and loved the most (although Suzaku is a close second IMHO), sort of his anchor to the world if you will. As for your second question; I vote for making it more abstract; using dark colors, menacing clouds and the like, to represent the angst and menace of the scene (and thus his sins) rather than a bloodbath, or you could modernize the scene and give it an H.R. Giger touch. He certainly has a knack for the ominous while composing relatively gore-free pieces (though not always, he's got some rather nasty ones). I guess you'd have to ask yourself whether you want to go with the classic look of Michelangelo or give it a modern airbrush-like look. That's up to you of course. Hope my input is helpful. |
