Haruhi did this a couple times too. Day of Sagittarius comes to mind... though the animation was epic for the battle sequences...

The animation is good, but in Episode 2 when Kyou was running to Ryou because she was crying, the animation was crap. Her leg looked like half of it was gona come flying off

That was actually an exaggerated way to imply how she is stomping and dashing you see.
It was not meant to be a normal running motion animation

Actually it was great animated, kyoani old style.
Animation it's not about good static drawings, it's not a manga. Go to watch some gainax show and learn please.

Ok, maybe it was just me being weird, but I guess ep 2 did have its ups with me loling most of the time

BUt animation at the beginning with the mysterious girl and the robot was really smooth. It was so dreamy

With each passing episode, I'm finding this "end of the world" concept even more and more fascinating. In some ways, it's more disturbing than most post-apocalyptic visions, partly because we have no idea how it happened and why these two were the only "human" entities to live through it.

And the "alienish" sheep creeped me out for a sec, I forgot to mention.
