In Mayaa Sakamoto's recent concert, she sang Triangler. And yes she can actually screech that high live without being off key. I knew she was pretty good at singing live, but this is the first concert I really saw her. I wish they have her at Animelo.

Random thoughts on the concert...other seiyuu concerts I seen, Nana Mizuki, Yukari Tamura, Minori Chihara, they have FANBOYS (a few number of fangirls too) who screans like they're crazy. Waving their glow sticks and have chants for certain songs (See Eternal Blaze....). Mayaa Sakamoto's concert...felt alot more mature. The audience actually sit there and listen to her singing, claps when a song ended. I really liked her life band too, they even have a couple of strings.

Other comment...is the Union Jack that great?

Megumi has had her best result since Macross Frontier with the Basquash single No Limit reaching #9 on the daily rankings. Though it is a seiyuu singing group single with Hayami Saori and Tomatsu Haruka who seems to be the main. In other news the May'n single for Shangri-La ended up selling 10,365 copies in it's first week.

Drama CD 3 tidbit. A Sheryl song not in the series, I am betting my money that the title of the song is "Pink Monsoon".

TWO Sheryl songs not in the series, if you include Aya Endo doing "Totsugeki Loveheart" as little-girl Sheryl...

No, I can't, unfortunately. Not enough money as it is, actually, to spend on a japanese drama CD (whose story portion I won't understand) for a couple of songs...

Yeah, it's cute, isn't it? Strangely, though, it sounds almost EXACTLY like the Flower Girl's rendition of the song on Macross 7 Docking Festival.

They had BETTER release a DVD of the Yoko Kanno concert from a couple of days ago...May'n delivered THE FINEST rendition of Diamond Crevasse ever heard on this plane of existence.

10 or 11 minutes long, and every note sparkled like a rare jewel.

It was also very cool (if a little strange) to hear May'n and Megumi sing back-up for Cowboy Bebop songs. I wonder what Spike and Sheryl would think of each other...?

"She´s a fine bird, kinda like Buffy, but with even better hair."

Well, if it makes you feel any better, Seikan Hikou was also extended, with about seven or eight "Kira☆!"s in it.

She did a stellar job on "Voices," though. Makes me hope it'll be the B-side of next single...

So how was the concert? Did you get to hear any duets between May'N and Megumi?

Somehow, a Ranka-intoned "Voices" makes my head hurt a bit... you sure it was good?

Yeah. They did "Lion," which was the only OFFICIAL duet there, but they sang backup together on most of the Cowboy Bebop and GitS songs. And then there was a HUGE medley towards the end, with the two of them, and Maaya Sakamoto, and Origa, and Mai Yamane all singing together.

As far as the concert as a whole...it was stunning. Three hours long, and if it had gone on for another three, I wouldn't have minded. There were a couple of small technical problems about half an hour into it (mike feedback), but nothing serious.

Yoko Kanno was on stage most of the time, playing piano, but finally...near the end...she sang.

And either she IS Gabriela Robin, or else she she does a pitch-perfect impersonation of her.

And the end, she pulled out an accordian and played "Anato no Oto," with Megumi singing, and the audience filling in the "Dokun Dokun Dokun" parts...except, since the concept of this concert was that Yoko Kanno was a baby chicken, everyone had to say "Piyo, Piyo, Piyo" instead.

As far as the audience went, I was disappointed to see only one cosplay...some guy dressed as Cowboy Andy.
