The title alone made it sounds like a mystery show with possible horror elements, the thing is that P.A Works already made a similar show before.
To add another note, Okamura had two shows next year (the other being Seven Deadly Sins's new installment perhaps? Seems likely), I'm kind of wondering which one of those he pours effort into it, while suspecting that the other one will have an assistant director to take care of the remainders.

Kuro Mokuro means - "Black Corpse" in English. This is not what I had in mind based off that twitter leak a week or so ago (yes I stalk the PA Works twitter page and #p.a. works on a very regular basis) ... I thought it was a medical drama based off that leaked pic. Well there's goes my expectation since mystery/horror is NOT a genre I like in anime (it's has a piss poor record).

Nah, he was part of the storyboard for Canaan, Hanasaku Iroha, Tari Tari, and Nagi no Asukara. I think this is the first P.A. Works series he's being the director for.

PA Works mecha? I don't even? What? My mind is blown.
I thought they only did "moeshit" (don't this comment seriously please ) with the occassional fantasy or pseudo-fantasy series. So that interview about a year or so ago when I think it was Horikawa said they wanted to "expand" to other genres wasn't just a bluff. Well I'm glad it isn't a mystery/horror series like the title suggested (Kuromukuro means Black Corpse in English) since anime SUCKS at doing horror and usually sucks at mystery. Now I've seen everything. 2016 is shaping up to be an absolute bonkers (awesome) year for anime with a mixture of "about-time" adaptations like march comes the lion, older series getting sequels and/or remakes and studios like PAW which I can't even dream about doing a mecha series of all things making one for the first time. P.S. The moe girls kinda look out of place, but it's PAW, so they go in hand in hand. Though this time, instead of looking going fullderpmode they look half decent and look kinda like Studio Bones styled females. Last edited by Pocari_Sweat; 2015-12-21 at 07:51. |

Girls have short hair gg.
The trailer looks cool, and rather different. /expects grimdark subversion where the characters' seaside iddlyic town gets destroyed by an attack and all of the childhood romantic interests as well as any farm animals or birds were killed leading to a WAR IS BAD subplot.
