A good staff with a nice studio for a Nitro+ show. How could this happen. Do they not care about what might happen to the world if S;G gets a nice adaptation?!

Needless to say, looking even more forward to this after this announcement. The weakest link seems to be the music, seeing as the 5pb guys (Murakami and Abo) haven't done anything amazing as far as I'm concerned. Although Abo in particular isn't bad, and the ever17/remember11 tracks were all pretty nice; just not outstanding. The exception being Karma, which is still one of my favourite pieces. So yeah, who knows, maybe they'll surprise me!

Yeah they do have their fair share of good works, like Death Note for one. Maybe it has to do with the director more than anything.

It depends on how much they give a damn about their project. A crappy director can break a show but it's not just their fault alone. Animating is a team effort and bad directing doesn't result in badly drawn art or jerky movement. Those are to be blamed on their respective departments. It's been discussed before somewhere, but Madhouse probably didn't think much of CHAOS;HEAD when they got the project, and thus the anime ended up the disaster it was.

Before the anime was officially produced by White Fox, I thought that Manglobe will animate this.

Quality degrade is dreadful. They can at least go like what Black Rock Shooter did. Of course, if they go with huke's colour palette, budget won't be standing. However, this character design quality doesn't look that promising.

Team isn't really spectacular, either. Let's see if this will follow Nitro+ jinx or not.

(*wait, thinking of it, madoka magika also follows nitro line...;;....)

The girl with the blue dress and maid coffee one are nice. White Fox? Oh shit no! Tears to Tiara was shitty in regards to story but animation was good. Katanagatari had its animation good to and story but that's another anime. BTW wonder how the ban will affect this?

... so are they going with that horrible, plain colour design?

Steins;Gate has a story that can easily be butchered in its anime form. Without competent directions and storyboard, this can easily fall flat.

Animating unique color palette design might be hassle of the staff while maintaining the overall animation of each episode so i can see why the simplified the design. Not to mention they have to think the budget that given to them for TV anime series. It's early to say about what kind of direction they decided with this adaptation so let's just wait and see.
