Quite obvious starting from when Ann was human size that it was a dream. If there were some kinda feature to make Shinki's become human size, then we would've seen more of them. Although, I was not expecting Ann to catch a virus, what kinda lame bastard would want to corrupt little doll like people?
A bit of a shame that even in her dream, she did not get more romantic with her master. However, at least she told him her identity, I would've been really annoyed if she didn't. Too bad her master didn't buy her that dress, she looked really good in it. |

On the issue of human-sized Shinkis, there is the possibility of making human-sized Shinkis with a Shinki's personality uploaded into it, as Clara suggested. It's a concept also seen in the Moon Angel OVA, where the standard small Shinkis serve as the core of a human-sized one. The technology to build something like that should be easy enough with their tech level, though actually building one would be one of financial and sociological considerations. The palm-sized Shinkis already cross the uncanny valley as it is, a human sized Shinki would be a whole other can of worms from a sociological standpoint

I only liked the idea of Ann's master buying a dress for her for fan service purposes.
And I'm aware there's the possibility of human sized Shinki's (I've seen the OVA), but if they were common enough, we would've seen them by now. But as to how human sized Shinki's would integrate into society, it's obvious for anyone who has seen Chobits. There would be many complications as it was portrayed there. |

There is another possibility already explored in an old movie called D.A.R.Y.L, what if you insert a shinki's brain into a human body? It is a sad but natural occurence that some babies are born without a brain so maybe in the future there can be technology to grow those bodes into their prime and insert a Shinki brain into them. This of course would open a debate about what is the soul, what is to be human and whatnot, but a "human" Ann is not as absurd as one might think.

The funny part is where Ach did not recognize Ann and believe what Ann says that she is actually a shinki. I'm surprised that Ach just that Ann's troubles are just to relieve from stress like a high school student that having hard time with studies.

Just sprinted through all the Shinki episodes, this time in 1080p. Needless to say, me = 8D
The episodes are all a load of fun, and all explore what impact the Shinkis have on that wild world. Though the encounter with the ectoplasmic entity of Episode 7 made me question the scientific basis of this anime... ...until Nya-Ann-ruko put me back in my place. Conclusion: If only Star Trek was like this.

The way I saw things, the eighth episode became a serious drama one but with a twist: Arn's Matrix-like dream was the lighthearted moment that got the most focus of attention on-screen.
Then, when everything got settled with Arn fixed from the virus the episode ends just the same way at how it started in the beginning. - See Aines for bringing back home strange substances that can contain viruses. |
