Also remember that the only Pleadies remaining are Kaoru and Umika, all the rest are either dead or incapacitated. So unless they both pull something incredibly good, im not sure what's gonna happen.

If you are refering to how the series is going to end expect some major twist.

We are practically at the same spot where Homura was at episode 10, no hope for the good guys save a miracle.

Let's see how Kazumi pull it out unless cruelty screws us over.

It would have been more enjoyable if more thing happened gradually, at elast the cop bit, now everything feels like being forced to be put on end. Well, there is still the chance of the manga not ending with this fight.

I don't think it will end with this fight at all, probably fake Nico is gonna kick the crap out of umika and kaoru, and they'll need to think of another plan.

Right here! Spoilers for Kazumi Magica chapter 19, "Grief Seeds", hot off the presses of 2ch.

•Continuing from where we left off last time with Kanna's big speech, Kanna declares that she's now going to take Kazumi off to their new world. Kazumi yells back at her, saying that she'd never want to live in a world without her friends. Kanna says that they just think of her as a replacement, and that she'd be able to stop Kazumi from becoming a witch with magic, but Kazumi refuses and breaks out of the container.
•Kazumi, now actually dangerously close to becoming a witch, falls to the ground near Umika and Kaoru. Kaoru yells at Kanna to help Kazumi, but she refuses. Umika tells Kazumi that even if her body is artificial, her heart is real, but Kanna shouts at her and interrupts. Umika shouts back, saying that Kazumi's heart isn't fake and couldn't be faked. As Kazumi's whole body turns black, Kanna prepares to attack them with Saki's witch.
•The barrier's sky bursts open. Three of Mirai's giant bears come roaring in and throw down a bunch of Gems from the Freezer (including Ayase's and Luca's), which immediately hatch into witches. The witches and bears stand in front of Saki's witch to protect it, thanks to Mirai casting La Bestia right before she died. ◦Ayase and Luca's witch is a big two-headed hellhound, by the way.

•Umika casts Rosso Fantasma(!) on Kaoru, creating a bunch of clones that all leap up and attack the witches. Kanna briefly compliments them on the nice technique theft. Umika teleports behind Kanna and pulls her Gem out with Tocco del Mare, but Kanna is unaffected and roundhouse kicks her away. Kaoru is similarily defeated by the witches and falls to the ground.
•Despite Umika and Kaoru's protests, Kazumi prepares to transform and attack Kanna. She thanks them for everything, and asks them to kill her if she turns into a witch. However, her Gem is too far gone to be of any use, and nothing happens. Umika gets Juubey to purify it, but he stops halfway through. He says "Ciao, Kazumi—" and falls apart, leaving behind a pair of Grief Seeds. ◦Said Seeds would be from the bookmobile witch and Airi, I'd guess? But I don't know for sure.

•Meanwhile, on a far-off building as usual, Kyuubey observes a giant version of Umika's magic circle floating in the sky, now beginning to crack. He comments that "it'll be daybreak soon over the 'miniature garden'".
•Umika and Kaoru's Gems are beginning to reach their limit, too. As they wonder why the purification stopped, Kyuubey walks up, saying "that 'Juubey' of yours was incomplete". They try to use the Grief Seeds that came out of him, but they've reached full capacity.
•Kanna approaches Kazumi. Right as she begins to break down, Kazumi's bell rings. Saki's witch screams and breaks free of Kanna's control, and fires bright lights at all the witches around it. As they're hit by the light, the other witches all turn on Saki's witch and tear it apart. Saki's Grief Seed falls from the sky before Kazumi. Umika and Kaoru pick it up and use it to purify Kazumi's Gem, saying that "this is proof of our friendship".

Now that I remember, Jyubei didn't lie when he introduced fake nico, he said she was "A compensation for Nico's contract" which technically is true, so this fake nico has been pretty much following them waiting for when real nico turn into a witch and die, so she can take her place as well.

What I still don't get, is how they were able to turn into witches without having their soul gems tainted, maybe as Jyubei was just a prototype, he didn't really clean them completely?

Knowing the Incubators, he was probably an attempt to control the moment and efficiency of the transformation.

Kyubey is a magnificent bastard, he drives the girls to despair but there is no guarantee they will take the bite and become witches at the height of their power.

If the magical girl wises up or becomes too damn cynical, she might live enough to grow into a women and her witch will be weak (Roberta).

By controlling the amount of corruption that enters the Soul Gem, the Incubators can purify the megukas to fight and harvest more witches and when they have reached the climax of their potential they will detonate the witch transformation for maximum efficiency.

It's dreaded, they were taking the last defensive will the meguka had against despair and becoming full masters of her death and damnation.

ok, so basically bey model 10 was an attempt at a softer approach, telling the girls the are going to become witches, as well as mroe specific of the contract, and putting effort into cleanign their soul gems; somehow that ends up with having the girls abuse the system, no wonder qb says it's a failure, girls still go crazy beocme witches, but they collect less energy.

It seems the only thing the girls really did was alter his memories and personality so that he only cares about their group, including limiting his ability to contract anyone else. Everything else seemed to be intrinsic to him.

•Kazumi's Soul Gem is cleaned, and the spiral patterns vanish from her. She jumps up and confronts Kanna, who is still yelling at her to join the Hyades. Kazumi yells back that she doesn't care about the Hyades or about humanity, and that she's just fighting to protect her friends.
•Kazumi transforms, charges up, and creates several copies of herself that leap forward and cut Kanna's witches in half. ◦And then Kanna yells AW, SHOOT! in English. I think her English phrases are really amusing.

•Kanna sics the Soujus' witch on Kazumi, who whips out a sword in each hand and attacks.
•Meanwhile, Umika begins talking to herself, and apologizes to Kazumi for the fact that her love of her friends isn't what they created her for. There's a flashback.
•When Kazumi was kidnapped, Umika and Kaoru deliberately kept the other Pleiades away and didn't tell Saki. When Saki got suspicious, they told her that they were making sure that Kazumi didn't have any serious problems this time. In doing so, they saw that (aside from her and Michiru's shared love of food) Kazumi's ideals were almost completely different from before. ◦I didn't think they'd give an explanation for why the other four Pleiades were completely missing during the first two chapters. What a pleasant surprise!

•She then flashes back to when they got the idea to revive Michiru. While fighting a witch (possibly Michiru's?), Umika stopped Saki from killing it and retrieved a ton of information from it with Ix File. She then compiled this information in an email to the others and came up with the plan mostly by herself. Saki and all the others agreed to the plan, calling it their fight against (and destruction of) "those guys". ◦I'm not sure how literal this part is, but Umika apparently got a hold of a chained-up, beating witch heart ("cor maleficus") that she shows to the Pleiades.

•Back in the present, Kazumi cuts the Soujus' witch in half and flings Kanna against the wall. Kaoru turns to Umika, and they both start to remember something else as well.
•Flashback to before the Pleiades made Kazumi. All of them are discussing her at the beach. Even though she'll have no memories or personality at first, Umika expects that she'll be a good person, like Michiru was. Mirai proclaims that she's gonna make Kazumi her disciple, and holds up a teddy bear that she made for her. Satomi holds up Toto, whose injuries she cured, and says that she'll give him back to Kazumi. (Toto scratches at Satomi's hand.) Umika will let Kazumi be the first to read her latest work, Kaoru brought soccer uniforms from all over Japan, and Nico has scheduled a trip to the Grand Canyon for everyone. Saki says that she's going to give her Michiru's earrings— not because she wants her to replace Michiru, but to keep Michiru's wish alive even though she herself is gone. ◦This is all in stark contrast to how they were acting throughout the story... particularily with Mirai and Saki. Nico also seems particularly open about where she used to live.

•Umika and Kaoru cry that they all wanted to be together with her, but now they're going to leave her alone again. Their gems are about to hatch, as is Saki's Grief Seed, which they have no idea how to dispose of...
•And then! Umika's giant magic circle floating over the town shatters, and they regain all their memories! Including how to dispose of Saki's Grief Seed: just have that guy eat it. They complain that they weren't able to escape from the "fairies" after all, then correct themselves. They're not fairies at all— they're the Incubators who want to eat the whole world.
•They scream at Kyuubey to come out and face them already, and he drops down as if on cue, saying "Long time no see, Pleiades."

Bring it on Kyubey!!!

That explains the loophole with Kanna being able to contract. :O Wow, this chapter is still full of what-is-this-I-Don't-Even. I hope they don't rush it and end it at 20. Umika knows Rosso Fantisma... Whoaaa. So she/they probably knew about the fight with Kyouko and was/were around at the time.. Thinking about Saki's witch reminded me of Kirika in Oriko Magica- self awareness as a witch. Something tells me that witches are more complex than ever. Witches killing witches and.. Damn.

I don't know why, but I suddenly thought that Kanna Hijiri would turn out to be Walpurgisnacht, though I doubt it'll work. Now that I think of it, why'd they suddenly remember about using Grief Seeds to purify their Soul Gems?
