It's revealed during their encounter at the DofD that Shou's father, the head of 闇(Yami, Darkness), is also Miu's father, whom she had thought was dead. Whether they share the same mother, and which of them is older, is still unknown. (Most of this is in Volume 25.)

Yeah, he took a bullet that was meant for Kenichi and Miu. Though i think it was more because Miu was about to take the bullet for Kenichi. after taking care of the gunman he then died of his multiple gunshot wounds.

Sho was a bit of an ass, but he was kinda cool and it's a bit pooh that he's died.

Kenichi is also not going to take this well. Nothing else that has happened is likely to have caused more anger in him. His frustration from winning the fight and still not being able to keep everyone safe (even his enemies) will hit him hard.

Well, Kanou Shou claims he's Miu's brother, and he was going to take her to her/their father, so it may be supposed that Shou is the grandson Fuurinji Hayato (that is, the Eldest of Ryuuzampaku), a supposition that may not, in fact, be valid. After all, there is not (so far) any evidence that Miu and Shou share a mother, and I'm not sure that it has been shown that their father is Hayato's son. (I need to find the chapter where Miu visits her parents' graves, and see what the inscriptions are.)

Some random soldier of Fortuna*'s happened to walk into the arena just after Kenichi had beaten Shou. Mindful of orders to fight to the last man, he fires at Kenichi, but even as Miu tries to knock Kenichi out of the line of fire, Shou stands up and takes the bullets.

*Fortuna is the master of the island where the DofD is taking place. The audience for the tournament are mostly underworld types and arms dealers, and the island comes under assault by American forces (assisted by the heroes of Ryouzampaku) as the tournament is winding down.
