Zero reason at all since they will have under control the match anyway. In fact it is more dangerous to have both Mihoko and Nodoka against a 3rd party.

...and this is the reason why I'm anti-Saki (as well as anti-Rozen Maiden in the past): Over-dominance by a show that I'm not into results in me wanting to root against that show.

So Maria is basically the only one standing in the way for a Saki win let alone round. And say what you will about Saki, but only 1 can advance from the group, that's sacrificing 3 strong players (well Hisa's strength is debatable).

And even then, if Maria beats Hisa, she's gotta be favourite.

To be honest, Saki's dominance in group C isn't even their fault. If anything, blame the terrible grouping. Like Sphire said, there are three top 8 worthy girls in one group, along with Hajime and Hisa who aren't pushovers themselves. The victim here is the Saki faction.
