Hi!
I've got a few questions so I hope it's ok that I'll ask them here... I couldn't download the Gundam Mangas of 'Char's Deleted Affair' in the section because it is said that the website can not be shown so I wonder if anyone is able to upload it... Thanks in advance! my further questions are... why did Haman and Char break up? and my last question is... the manga of Char's deleted affair is not available in English officially in stores, right? so does anybody know where to buy the Manga in Japanese? Thanks for your answers in advance! |

I asked for beginner Gundam recommendations here a few months back on the condition that no series older than 1990 be recommended, and after having enjoyed both Gundam 00 and Gundam Seed (I've also just recently started Wing), I've grown an interest for Zeta Gundam, but would like to have knowledge of the original series before watching.
[/tl;dr] So in short, would watching the three original Gundam movies be sufficient to cover the original series if I want to get to know the original Gundam and gain the backstory knowledge needed for Zeta and the 008X OVA's? Thanks. EDIT: Could I also get help with the UC Gundam series and the order in which I should watch series (discounting the first), movies, OVA's, etc? Last edited by qtipbrit; 2008-07-26 at 01:09. |

OMG, like anything before 1990 is a serious problem. If that's the case you may as well say farewell to CCA (major movie) and Zeta since they're before that. There's nothing wrong with watching the MSG movies, but they do cut out a lot as well as change a couple things come the end.

Well, thanks for the input; the original series interests me, but I'm having a bit of trouble procuring it. I was mostly looking for the original story and setting of UC, so until a bit of luck comes my way, I'll stick with the movies for basic UC background. |

Tau: No TD Blanket = unfiltered red particles Blanket holds the particles in the drive and makes it a big fusion nuclear machine. Since the Tau has no blanket.... its basically just drains the battery But note they are "solar" not nuclear in anyway. weird. |

All the Drives are basically big generators. The four Gundams make use of a TD Blanket that can hold the energy in the generator and continuously recharge the drive generator. This Blanket can only be made on Jupiter and thusly is hard to get! The Tau drives is basically a GN Drive without this Blanket. Because it does not have the Blanket the generator lets the energy out. So the Tau runs out like a battery..
