I really didn't think I hated him that much. But the weird part is my mom told me when I was listening to Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Op. And that Op song make me feel Happy and warm. (even tho its a creepy ass song to some people)

Heh, two of my gramps died like 2-3 years ago and while I was at their funeral I didn't even feel any hint of sadness so don't worry about it

A few changes...

- The mana would now be for the stress of using the spell... Zero Mana = KO
- Counterspell is now porno bind
- Wand dmg is device dmg which is all spells
- Arcane explosion is the explosion cause when the spells... Well, explode

Oh crap I mixed up the builds...

But to me, Chrono is an full Arcane type with an uber Frost wand, since Arcane emphasizes all round magic control and defence, as well as several neat tricks. So I'll take the PoM form.

It's pretty even. Blink can be countered by Greller Schritt, so no silly kiting, just pure hotblooded action. If I got time, I'd do this duel.

Many of the chumps are rather bad at it, but if we look at Tia, then it is a more common practice. They probably use the one-trick pony tactic for everyone except mages that do a lot of solo work.

I guess they were going along the lines of too large mana pool for finesse in melee angle. But IMHO, they went way too far. Even making her say that Caro should be able to perform better than her in such a situation is -_-;...

Anyway, she seems to be capable enough when in Unison... But that's about it.

You make a great character, only to retcon her (her melee abillities seemed just fine in the A's manga) shaft her, and do absolutely nothing with that weakness except mentioning it.

Forget all the plot-ditching and overdone fanservice, this was by far the biggest error in StrikerS.

Actually that's not entirely true, Chrono has already learnt ice/water spells before getting Durandal... The staff just amplifies them Tempest form cuts down on arcane and focus a hell-lot into Ice...

About Blink...

I'm working on the theory that, since Fate could learn and modify spells from her beloved onii-chan, it's possible that Chrono could do the same. That said, I'm stealing her sonic move and energy blade manipulation.

I see, well, if i were to make a knighting test in my AU i would make it a cave (since it kinda makes sense and is more common) or maybe a maze where it's monitored by knights (concept taken from 1st ep of strikers) then maybe i would have a few kinds of basic tests, each focusing on targeting the knight's weaknesses

Faster movement speed to cast the ice spells and if the second works as well, you'll get Stinger Blade: Execution Shift that follows like bees. Very nice.

Now this is interesting. It'll require a bit of tweaking for the original Torië template, but concidering his role was fairly smart in the initial draft, that shouldn't be a problem. It'll turn the story just a bit more away from the good vs evil idea too.

You should watch Legend of Galactic Heroes, if you have the opportunity. Interesting doesn't even begin to come close when the epic story of Yang-Wen-Li and Reinhard von Lohengramm/Musel is in question. Not to mention the countless memorable quotes.

Not to mention the Wagner-ish classical soundtrack is godly, on par with Revolutionary Girl Utena's even.

I still remember.
How mother used to tell me about her home world. She wanted to keep on remembering, she said. So that it could live on in her memories. She wanted me to remember it too, and the circumstances that lead to its destruction, so that I could learn from what happened.

I didn't really mind, since she always looks happy when talking about, although later I knew she felt sad as well. What I hated about it was how misarable my father looked whenever he happened to be nearby listening. He'd apologise and go on about how he failed her. It was no suprise that he dropped out of the Bureau. He had completely lost his nerve.

I can't help but remember how pathetic he was. He got even worse after mother died.

I heard what really happened. The people of that world simply ushered their own way to doom. The Bureau contacted them a little too late. Not that they'd actually listen if it was any earlier. Sure, the last resort that he took part in might had made a difference had it succeeded. But it failed, the odds were stacked against them. Did he really think all of that was his fault ? Did he think just because he fell in love with a woman there, he had a responsibility to save the world ? Did he think he could stop millions of people from dying had he tried a little harder ? He needed to face reality and understand the futility of it.

He failed. The Bureau failed. Time moves on. But he just kept on hiding from the past.

I didn't choose this path to redeem him. I just wanted to be that strong person that he never was. If the TSAB failed back then, I'll change it so that it'll work the next time. If I fail, I'll put all my effort to succeed in the future. Sometimes, things won't change even when you have put an entire lifetime's effort into it, but I'm prepared to face that. I won't give up on my goals.

After all, It's so boring to live on without any dreams and ambitions.

She was then suddenly roused by a knocking on the door. The grey world of her thoughts and memories washed away, leaving behind the view of the sky outside the window of her hospital room. Almera grasped her forehead instinctively as her throbbing headache returned.

"Can we come in, Sergeant Almera ?"
A deep, familiar voice adderessed her from beyond the door. It was unmistakably Lexus. 'We' means that her other subordinate is likely with him too.

"Yes, yes.. you can enter." Almera answered in an uninterested tone.
Gathering her senses, she quickly recalled how and why she ended up in a hospital bed yet again.

A tall silver-haired young man and a child with light brown hair entered the room, clad in their armed forces suits. The child, Abel quickly placed the basket of fruits he was carrying next to the bed before moving next to the young man.

"I'm glad that you got out of that in good shape, but I wonder what part of leaving your squad to charge into a ancient warship infested by AMF-equipped Gadget Drones was sound judgement."
Lexus' words were particularly dripping with annoyance despite his attempts to sound 'business-as-usual'.

"Oh, I was simply worried about the group that went in first. I did tell the Lt. Colonel about it."

"Right.." Lexus gave a doubting look.

"Ok ok, I just wanted a piece of the action."

"But we were badly swarmed outside too." Abel cut in.

"OK ! I thought there was a chance that I could earn a share of the spotlight from taking part in the disabling of the Cradle. Give me a break already, I did help drag some those dead weights out alive with me."

"Oh right, we dropped by the other room to see them earlier. They wanted us to tell you that they were grateful for your help."
Abel's face lightened up as he suddenly remembered that message.

"Ugh. Stop making me feel bad."
Almera grimaced and looked away. It hurt even more coming from Abel, with that straightfoward gaze and innocent tone of his.

"We're not here to extract an apology out of you, nor to make you promise to refrain from doing such things in the future. We just hope that you have learned your lesson. You could have gotten into serious trouble if Lt. Colonel Yagami didn't vouch for your actions." Lexus continued with his usual business-like tone.

Abel then interjected. "We were just worried."

"You were worried about her. I was worried that she'd end up using the others as shields in desperation."

"Tch. Fine. I'll be careful."

"..but don't think you can get away with this for free. I'll make sure that you'll all be thoroughly busy when I get back."

"I'm sure the rest of the department would be thrilled to hear that. However, I'm afraid we need to take our leave now. Abel's been bothering that Lieutenant again almost every day since we had time-off from the last incident. He'll need early rest, and so do you."

"Don't lose to her, kid." Almera just barely tried to show some form of encouragement. Of course, that was just a matter of speech, she didn't really think Abel stood any chance against that person.

"I'll do my best ! We'll be doing live swords, without magic tomorrow !" Abel answered proudly. His eyes were serious.

'...did Signum really to agree to that ?'
Almera let out a sigh. "...I wish I still had that kind of enthusiasm. By the way, Lexus.. you once mentioned that your grandfather was originally an off-worlder, right ? Which world did he come from ?"

"I believe it was the 97th Unadministered World. Is there anything else ?" Lexus showed a slight surprise in his expression.

"No, nothing. Thank you for visiting."

"We'll try to drop by again tomorrow, Sergeant !"

"Goodbye then, Sergeant."

As soon as her two subordinates left the room, Almera took a deep breath and reclined back into her bed. Amber glare from the setting sun pained her eyes a little as she turned to look at the sky outside. Mid-childa was saved from potential destruction only last week, but there was still unease in her.

'It has been years since I dreamed of that.. I wonder why now ?'

Time skip after the prologues are done, I guess. I still need a title to call all this, lol.

Also, Lexus' face portrait is done !

Wow, good prologue. I particular liked the opening first-person narration, it evoked good emotion without being overbearing. Reminds me of something I've watched before.

And awesome potrait as usual. Btw, is Persona-Boy drawn by you as well?

Chaos has good records of writing 3rd bases, (( he rarely does 1st and 2nd )), but as far as I know, I haven't seen 4th bases from Chaos... much less HOMERUN DA! aka stories which cover smooth progressions like Lowe's Shinji/Matsuri, Flame's BreakerS, and my Saga der Saga.

My condolences. And while I can't say I understand how you feel, not having lost any direct family members YET (( uncles yes, but not parents/etc )), but I have felt that coldness... as in I mourn, but the feeling is cold. No tears, the memories just flowed away.

I'm at episode 4 so far. I'll wait and see how Reinhard develops further before I start making any claims of Reinhard becomming a template for Torië (Torië for example doesn't have a noble goal like saving his sister).

I'm far more interested in the way the battles are portrayed. Huge fleets and yet they focuss on the tactics used rather then the lightshows, oh how I'm loving this.
