The sub is on BT. yahoo.com look for it. There is no sub group name on the filename.

hehehe..somehow i manage to grad hold of a fan sub one from somwhere.... though i don't know who is the fansub groupcause they try to hide themself from being catch by the licenses company.

Just picked up the manga and the whole opening sequence with the

decapation is more dramatic. Lucy picks the secretary up and has her hanging and facing the guy with glasses. The Secretary starts crying and I made out something about sacrifice and then Lucy rips her head off with her hands, instead of with the "Physic Arms" (i don't what they are called so don't flame).

I think the folks at the lab referred to that as "Vector", but correct me if I am wrong.

At any rate, so far this is the probably the best anime I've seen so far this year. Too much happy stuff and this is just what I need. I tried watching Gantz but gave up after they censored all the gore and all the skin. If you are going to show the show don't p__sy out. But then, that's why they ask you to buy the DVDs

I was able to download a couple of raw volumes of the manga and the anime follows it closely. The story behind the main characters are all also pretty dark and somehow, mysteriously, it fills a void....

Can't wait for Episode 4!

The poor secretary Kisaragi died happy... somewhat.

I've read the subbed manga, and it seems Kurama actually cared about Kisaragi, but he said "you'll have to be a sacrifice."

Kisaragi responded "I'll be a help to you that way?"

From here we can assume that Kisaragi would do anything to please Kurama (what a nice secretary), and has no regrets dying.

Kurama says "Don't worry, your death won't be in vain."

After Kisaragi is decapitated, Lucy laughs evilly and says that her death was meaningless and was in vain.

After Lucy escaped, Kurama talks to the head of Kisaragi "I'll avenge you/I'll get my revenge" he promises.

Lucy and all of the other "horned humans" I forget the scientific name have the ability called "Vector." Basically invisible hands. How many of them? I don't know, but likely an even number.

There probably is since the series constantly revolve around the notion of human evolution, but I doubt it's a direct reference the prehistoric woman herself.

I wouldn't call it "mental torture" but sheer entertainment. If stuff like Happy Lesson presents the world at is most positive nature then Elfen Lied just presents the opposite extreme. Both can be entertaining in their own right.

Issues such as incest, rape, step-father raping his daughter, for example, happen all the time anyways...

Can you fill me in the meaning behind Lucy?

The only prehistoric woman fossil in sciene I ever heard of was Mitochondria Eve, speculated to be "where life began"

If you read the manga, you will get more detail as to the meaning of "lucy" in the anime. For those who have only the RAW and do not fully understand the anime, the story basically says that "Vector" has, in their possession, of a humanoid, a byproduct of evolution in their hands. This "humaniod" has special powers which is vary dangerous. Can this be the next step in the evolutionary process or an adnormality?

Ep3 hints at the answer.

If I remember my psych class, it's the same region that scientists are studying people for ESP - Extra-Sensory-Powers. They are borrowing a lot of scientific theories. Also split personality Nyu/Lucy has more to do with ESP than the shot to the head but I think they went with the lost memory just to fit with the storyline.

I hope the anime follows closely with the manga but so far, it's WAY toned down.

I kind of understand Lucy's anger, though. If I was mistreated and used in a scientific experiment like that even though I was a highly developed individual who deserves the same rights as normal humans, I would get very mad myself.

I expected her to be homeless, no normal young girl would be wandering around town at night like that IMO. The way she could just plainly look at Bando without being scared or sickened kind of alerted to me that she's not all that normal. And hell, she even helped him.

Anyone know the little girl's name anyway? I think it's Maya or something.

I also didn't expect Nana (I think that's her name) die like that, and so quickly too. She was in episodes 2 - 4. Well, I won't really miss her, but she seemed genuinely kind. From what I could make out she was extremely devoted to "papa" Kurama, but still resembled a... "normal" girl in most of her behaviour.

So that "ESP" centre (btw, is it extra sensory perception or powers), may be responsible for the personality split...

It seems that mental turmoil, physical or emotional will trigger the change in personalities.
