I wonder what's the deal with Nana and Hachi. The more we find out about the children and adults the more of an anomaly these two seem to be. Are they more like the adults or more like the children? If they're like the children then why do they appear to be adults? If they're more like the adults then why is whatever infection the children are carrying not affecting them? Are they their own special category instead then? Perhaps they're robots or androids? |

There's quite a few non-hentai anime with sex in them mind you. Many of them involve the MCs, and mecha anime is one of the genres that's not averse to have some sex in their shows.

he hires and has sex with them, essentially he sees his harem as his charges and him their guardian, much to the chagrin of atleast 2 of them, they even get openly upset when they find out he does, when they are willing to do it with him

But yeah, of all of these, I have seen Shin Sekai Yori and Valvrave, with only Valvrave coming closer to Franxx in genre and atmosphere. It was rape, too, there, if I'm not wrong. Oh, and now that I come to think of it, Berserk, of course, but that's just a different matter.

But now, you should know that sex are in a lot of non-hentai anime as I and others have pointed out. The list can go on and on.

Ep 11 thoughts...
Another character focused episode though this time fighting the klaxosaurs was an integral part of the episode, which was nice. Nearly everyone got some character development or fleshing out this time, though Mitsuru more than others. Basically, a lot of things came together this episode though Mitsuru was the central character.
Unless I misunderstood, there was a huge hint that childbirth (and presumably pregnancy too) doesn't occur naturally any more. Another confirmation of something that had been hinted at and had been speculated about. Looks like at some point as a child Hiro was mentally messed with and he changed and forgot about certain things. Curious. I dunno if we can say that Mitsuru was gay for Hiro and felt betrayed but if not it seems something along those lines - the mirror / contrast with Ikuno's feelings for Ichigo (to the extent of wanting to try doing a female/female piloting combination) is surly no accident. 02 is definitely frustrated and not handling her feelings too well. She's somewhat self-destructive and it looks set to become worse. We've had character focus on nearly everyone now so it's probably about time for the main plot to move again and for the focus to shift back to 02 and Hiro. Here we see Hiro try to offer support to 02 but she doesn't take him up on it. I think the way 02 is now it probably wouldn't be wise to press her any harder as it would probably be counter-productive (ie she would respond harshly). Clearly she's going to explode or something at some point. PS I foresee a certain three letter word coming up a lot in the discuss. Sigh. |

Saw episode 11 today.
Idk how to feel about this partner reshuffling tbh. For what's worth, Mitsuru and Hiro will probably have more personal issues as the show ventures on. Still, I'm starting to like Mitsuru a little bit more now. Kokoro is such a loyal friend. I'd say anyone who is partnered with her is a lucky guy. Personally, I think Futoshi is trying a bit too hard to get his point across about how he feels for Kokoro.

so they really are trying to develop each pair. good for the writers and directors sticking to their guns. i hope they go further with their character developments as well. like the eps we've gotten so far have fleshed out the characters half way, so i'm hoping there will be eps later on that bring them completely around.
the overarching plot of 02 and Hiro gets a little more complicated this ep too. they seemed to be on such good terms, then the mirror and the tests are slowly pulling them apart. then the curve ball at the end of this ep, where they'll be together until they die. there's a ton of possibilities here and it leaves me wanting more! the less interesting arc of "adults are perfect" also get a bit more too, but this ep didn't add too much to it. also... NTR NTR NTR zomg.

Kokoro's free to dump any guy she wants. You go, girl! (She's also with the guy who would most likely now enter into a relationship with her and has a fit body. ) Also...this episode closed the possibility of same sex pairing so Zorome was on the right track.
