I'll start by saying loli Namie is too cute !



- Haha, the quote we talked about in the quote thread appeared in this ep. SPINNING IZAYA OH YEAH ! What a troll this guy is. His office is pretty damn cool btw.
- Seiji is seriously nuts... he kills a girl and then eats ramen like nothing happened.
- Namie's brocon seems pretty serious. Too bad he doesn't seem to give a damn about her
- looks like the Yagiri had Selty's head for a long time.
- Selty finds Mika and goes after her, Mikado helps her escape and shelters her... I wonder if this is going to generate another debate
- Seiji trying to fight Shizuo was just

Now, what is Selty going to do? Cut off her head from Mika's body to get it back or let her head live its new life? Shinra probably wants her to choose the second option.

Pretty meh episode for me for some strange reason.

Spoiler for 9:

• Shizuo just comes off as way too bored.
• Seiji is just pathetic the entire episode, with no redeeming personality. The sulking in the end doesn't help either.
• You can pretty much figure out the story by now.
• Freaking Izaya ... it's always you behind everything isn't it. You can see/confirm that he's part of the chatroom as well (I must be in the minority that I really hate this guy).
• What's most interesting is that game board (I love all these various chess boards, they're so awesome). With the original set up (mid way between the episode) between the white and black Go pieces, the black is chasing the white, yet a pawn is sent directly under the white. Near the end, the white still has a chance to live (but is already in the risk of being captured), filling that Tokin into the board pretty much killed the white regardless of what alignment the Tokin is (unless it is the white's next move you can still save it, but you might end up losing a much bigger piece of land instead ...). The choice of promotion is really interesting too. I have various guesses to who the pieces are but ... let's just wait a bit more.

Must say this but Shizuo steals the spotlight again with one awesome scene. And how Izaya is getting his annoying-ness out as well. NOT THAT I COMPLAIN. <33333

- LOLI NAMIE. Homg, such cuteness~~ But again sleepy headness strike, how did Namie's dad allow her to see Celty's head in the tank?!
- I must be not the only one person who likes Namie and Izaya's exchanges. She must be one of the person who can hold off talking to him without strangling him of sorts (Celty aside since Celty is pure love fail attempt at reasoning indeed) Although admittedly she lost her composure here and then :'D
- ... Yagiri siblings sure are weird. Wait that's not the word... Creepy is. What kind of person would be able to eat instant noodles while there is someone who is presumably dead?! And let's not say about Namie bro-con-ness weighs out human morality on her individual scale

-The thing about Harima having Celty's head is still puzzling me though. Essentially, I don't believe it anymore, but the basis is still too weak to conclude Harima not having Celty's head. There is no way a normal human could do a head transplant surgery, and even so, for what reason? :[ Still too much scenes on questions here ;-;
-Oh Kamiyan, you are having too much fun voicing Izaya indeed--here is to cheers for Izaya's annoying (but admittedly... (UN)-cute) weirdness coming out slowly! THat "NINGEN (or was it hito? Either way, the same~) LABU" came across the same as what I have hoped for <3
-Ahhh, now I do have appreciation for normality in this series, thank you Mikado for just existing! ;A;

Spoiler for Rant/Pathetic PATHETIC rant:

By now I can conclude Seiji is already out of my favourite characters list, and Mika is also borderline out. Oh well, at least it's fun to know that the story is not always going to be centered around them, thank God. I'm much more interested at Dollars' mysteries anyway and slasher's than Mika and Seiji "UNMEI NO AITE~~~" scenes. O3O And screw him, HOW SOMEONE THIS PATHETIC CAN ATTRACT TWO WOMEN TO THE POINT OF OBSESSION?! B|

I was surprised at that ballpoint, freaking ballpoint stabs... Though it was pathetic. Too pathetic. All of them. Is there anyone in the world that can make such badassery moments THAT pathetic? Ah well, that must be what influence me after seeing volume 5 novel cover. >_> Actually noone can be more pathetic than Seiji so, I excuse him for being unrefined with pen stabbing. Here is to hoping someone did that with lots of glory and awesomeness sometime in the future, since pen-stabbing is actually a God-moments in my book. And to be tainted with that Seiji is just... UGH.

The episode is actually quite okay to interesting one but that Seiji factor makes me want to hit a trash can near me :[ STFU SEIJI AND SULK AND EMO ALL YOU WANT.

And thanks stuopidget for explaining the chess' arrangement, I'm too beginner to understand the positions of shogi and go by myself even though I do realize that weird positions and assortment have some meaning

But the thing about this episode that makes me very happy is that the plot is finally moving, and is it okay for me to cheer when Mikado is finally involved in this craziness for once? /o/ Throw a normal person to the world of craziness, and the build up sure worth it!

Seeing the plot finally advancing like this was thoroughly enjoyable. It took me a bit of time to realize "heeeey that's actually Celty's head about to pass right by her", which led the story in a really interesting direction (especially with Shinra asking Celty if she meant to just chop the head off to get it back). I'm just not sure I'm too satisfied with Mikado's coincidental involvement for now, but we'll see where that takes us. For now, it at least provided us with an awesome moment when Izaya learned that Mikado was involved. (Edit: it just struck me that it would be most interesting to have Mikado mention this in the chat room... oh how I want to see this happen now!)

I won't be able to join in the Seiji hate though, he does rank pretty high in the disturbed characters list but it's not like it's really anything new in this series Him and Namie sure complete each other pretty damn well in that aspect! To be honest, I wasn't expecting the siblings to have such issues before this episode, but I'd definitely love to see more of these issues showing up in the future anyway~

It's not the disturbingness and creepiness of his character that grates though, at least for me.

Head over heels with heads? It's okay. Childhood love with a head (lol @ parallel with Shinra, albeit he is a bit older by then!)? Still okay. (Directly) Implied to stealing the head from the lab later and presumably kill a woman? Disturbing but hey, it makes the world merrier. Issues with killing is another issue of morality. <3 Nothing is wrong with being weird per se.

What makes him grating is how much he really takes his obsession to another level. D: Especially at the conversation with Shizuo later. Sure I'm fine with obsession and weirdness and screwed up and hateful character, or combination of them all. But Seiji just struck it in the wrong way, obsession to the head applied, he just don't care about "Celty"/Harima with Celty's head as an individual, despite calling themselves "Fated lovers".

Of course that may apply to Namie, but unlike her, Seiji just... Has no redeeming quality in this episode. Really I can't find any word fitting anymore that I have to go with others word at this rate ;_; For the record, I tried not to hate him, but...

Seiji....well he dare to face strongest guy in Ikebukuro with just ballpen and power of love got trow around and still have conscious　enough to stab more ballpen at Sizuo....give him some credit for that ^^'' (Sizuo even says he's　pleased with Seiji a lot more than Izaya)

Mikado wasn't exactly normal though..She said she don't remember much and first thing he think of is "Memory wipe"...? maybe he just watched too much anime

Shizuo is the best character in this series, 'nuff said Loved how he was completely unfazed by Seiji's 'attacks' and threw him like a ragdoll into that truck. Also loving all the screentime he's been getting with Celty lately. Screw that nutcase Shinra, these two should hook up.

No wonder Namie's a massive brocon, her whole family is messed up She should've used her body instead of Mika's when doing the head swap, then at least Seiji would be acknowledging her

Poor Mikado, he'd better hope Kida still has some connections or that Anri is secretly a battle android, 'cause he's gonna need all the help he can get

Geez! Thanks to Seiji. The pen-stabbing scene's awesomeness has just been ruined. Not only does he have borderline obsession with Celty's head, he is also very foolish and reckless - picking a fight with someone who haven't done anything. Shizuo is being too kind here.

If it's only Celty and Namie who are after Mika, then Mikado might have a chance to survive here. But if Shizuo decides to tag along in order to help Celty...

IT TALKS!!! That was a major WTF for me.

Celty is in a major moral dilemma , now that the head has apparently developed it's own personality what is she going to do.

And what even more bizarre is that the head doesn't remember anything either. So just what happened to "their" memory?

-Is it just me or is Mikado's apartment REALLY rough?

Damn if seiji isn't one huge creepy arse. The scene of him eating seafood cup noodle with blood stains on his clothes is ewww. Not to mention how he's totally in love with the idea of being in love. That's worse than Shinra.

Though, we finally see how Mikado (and everyone else) is tied up in the plot. Celty's head is what that connects all the characters together.

Guy looks so poor that it is hilarious. His laptop (is that his laptop?) looks sooooo ancient. Doesn't look like he has a TV in the room either. If he chose to leave home for a place like this ... I wouldn't know how boring his home is.

he kills/stabs people without remorse. Guy is so pampered and clueless about the world, which could mostly be blamed on Namie. Honestly, a guy with no money (way to mooch off your sister you jerkface), no job, no moral, no common sense is really just complete fail in my book.

this guy is in love with the face on the head, BUT he thinks he is in love with THE HEAD itself. If he finds out that his sister is posing as Celty then he probably will look for the real head (even though he clearly just likes the face imo since the stupid head has no personality nor memory).

Also, from this episode I think Namie hate the head too much to change herself into something that she loathes.

Namie looks completely ruthless, though I think Celty and Shizuo might actually be saving grace to Mikado assuming Shizuo doesn't smash Mikado's face with his, "Sumimasen!", which is literally the first thing he says on screen on more than one occasion. Amazingly, this hasn't annoy me yet.

Mikado has a classmate next door that is from DOLLARS??? Was that what he said in the preview? Be hilarious if it's DOLLARS, Celty/Shizuo, and Yagiri faction all looking for Celty's head, which obviously make you wonder how the hell did DOLLARS get involved again.

• Shizuo really doesn't feel pain anymore, does he? I really cringed when the pen went through his hand...though at least it was just his hand, I guess.
• The juxtapositioning of Seiji's love for Celty's head and Shinra's love for Celty was pretty interesting...I'm liking Shinra more and more with each episode, even if he is a weird guy. On the other hand, I'm going to reserve judgement on Namie's and Mika-Celty's feelings about Seiji...
• Of course Izaya is the one who knows everything!

Best episode in a while IMO. Finally some major developments on the main plot, Celty's head.

I thought Namie would be one of my favorite characters since her brief introduction in episode 6, and this episode certainly confirmed it. Her vast and absolute love is win, even if it's obviously more unrequinted than Shinra's could ever hope to be. And I'm almost sure it'll be her undoing eventually, but until then it should provide lots of entertainment.

As for Seiji, I get where the hate is coming from, but personally the fact that he's so screwed up makes him amusing to me. Screwed up characters totally fit this show and the more the merrier I say. Why the hell was he fighting with pencils though? That was weird. And Shizuo was pretty cool there.

Though not as much as Izaya in the end. That was both awesome and hilarious. And totally agreed that humans should come to love him as well. His trolling of Namie in the beggining was also pretty cool.

I like how Shinra continues to be blunt and completely unfazed by even the most morbid possibilities that come across his mind about Celty's head on another person's body. As I'd thought before, he seems to be pretty amoral, making him quite interesting as well.

As for Mikado's involvement, well the guy obviously has some shining knight complex going on, always needing to rescue the girl in danger. I don't quite see how he was able to get away from freaking Celty, but oh well.

If the preview is any indication, next episode should be quite interesting.

Does Celty's head have a memorizing ability or is it because it is beautiful? I mean the uncle and seiji seem to be mesmerize by it the moment they saw it...

A head transplant is actually possible considering it is celty's head where anything can be possible.

Folks, it harder to attach the head to a body than it is to have plastic surgery and hair dye job. Think about it. And it's not exactly hard to fake the neck scar to complete the job.
