ah poor sad sad diablo 3.
I had such great hopes for you. I played 2 to death many a times. I'm sure every year I re-installed and play for a good 3 months pretty constant. Diablo 3 just didnt' do it for me. Who knows maybe in some gaming dry spell I might play it again, but otherwise its just missing something. I don't know what it is, but I would almost be more willing to pop in diablo 2 than 3 right now. |

Well, I reinstalled for w/e reason, and lol who tested this?
Although this is probably worse... In all seriousness though, this is actually a really good patch (You never thought you'd hear this from me?) with the difficulty settings and the drops. The infernal thing is a d2 rehash, but it allows the itemization to actually be available to everyone while the dedicated gamers tackle the hardest contents and just have a better chance at the godly gear. The Monk and Enchantress nerf was not welcome and they really should be ashamed of themselves. If you use an enchantress, pick the missile ward-- 6% reduction against ranged attacks is quite a lot. In any case, we might be out of the beta testing period, though pvp is nowhere to be seen. As for me personally, 37k dps holds up to like Mp4, after that I'm back to June 2012 spending 15 minutes trying to kill anything.

It just took Blizzard 8+ months to institute pvp hurrrrr.
On the other hand, at least it's dueling and not arena bullshit. The Wizard/Monk buffs are highly needed as most Monk spenders are trash and wizard skills don't revolve around CM CM CM CM CM FN are shit too. Crafting needs to be useful.... MP in public games... well YOU FOOLS SHOULD HAVE DONE THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE. RD change is solid. And plagued is too weak, while molten is too powerful. Overall, a good patch, but this is more like what the game should have been at release. The thread's lack of activity is just merely one of the results of Blizzard's initial negligence. Still I guess it's kinda funny looking back at this thread especially since I have more than twice the dps since I last posted.

I changed!? *gasp*
So my brother finally got his account unlocked and played it for the first time. His only character, a female Demon Hunter, was left at level 60 with a Paragon level of 34, with somewhere in the neighborhood of 3 million gold and a number of uniques, including some two-handed sword meant for a monk, of all things. Gotta love them Asian vandals. :V

From what I understand my brother was actually hacked the hard way and not scammed out of it, though I could be remembering it wrong. Nice of whoever did so to strengthen his character and NOT totally clean him out, though.

Snapshotting is a pretty big exploit if we're talking about swapping to the highest dps set and then switching away since it's actively letting the build double dip-- you can just swap a bunch of glass cannon gear (Sup Skorn), and then go back to your normal gear and enjoy the benefits of all of it. Not saying it's wrong to abuse it, but the mechanic is broken, and in the end while most monks abuse it to a lesser degree it just shows how many are dependent on sweeping wind. In the end, this is still all thanks to gear , though that's just a fundamental issue with the game. Mind you, this kind of stuff just helps me, since my Monk only does 78k dps unbuffed but since she uses a shield, has 1 mil ehp. So giving myself a ton of dps arbitrarily would just be a boon. Edit: And when the hell did you get to pvl 65 all of a sudden? Good work. Maybe... what happened here?

Yeah a handful of friends and I started playing again at the start of the year for stupid reasons.
http://www.reddit.com/r/Diablo/comme...being_patched/ SS monks getting patched time to cash out my +20% IAS dagger I am kind of looking forward to the new patch: higher MP will be a little more meaningful for leveling |

They need to boost the MF too though. EXP is just leading to better MF and will be pointless once paragon gets high enough.
Gold Find isn't necessary to follow though... that stuff is getting quite inflated. In other news, I logged on and found some low end items getting more expensive. Economy is bouncing back a little, lol.

For me I feel the lower end market is very wobbly: even though I am "more well off" these days, I still do some flips of items in the ~1m range as they usually lead to very quick sells (20-50m item may take a while... took me a week to flip a 100m lacuni with marginal profits...).
The prices of stuff such as All Resist strength fire walkers and tyraels can go from 300% of their regular price for a day or two to 50% of their regular price afterwards. The stat gain from paragon level is pretty noticeable. I think you are supposed to gear towards getting 300% MF, then slowly phasing out MF gear for "actual" gear and be able to farm more efficiently over time due to the increase in dps. The biggest perk of farming higher in higher Monster Power imo is the increased chances for mobs to drop additional loot: it is not uncommon to see several legendaries drop from trash in a MP10 clear. |

Yea, supposedly it's going to phase out MF once you have a high enough plvl.
But in practice, most people have tested that an MF gem > Exp gem for the most part since the drops you'll find will outpace the exp gem. It takes more and more exp to gain a level, after all. But the exp gem is more consistent though.
