Interesting method of lampshading a lot to move the plot along much faster than usual with so many moving parts. Not ineffective; just interesting. Some real Ocean's 11 stuff in here, too.

"Jaune, you're not on mute" would've been a good line for the current real-world situation.

Robot Penny going by the wayside was very original Terminator like, so continue the comparison I've been using for a few episodes now. Meanwhile human (?) Penny is awesome.

But, wait, let me make sure I understand something here... Old Penny is a sort of reverse build of New Penny? They said the staff being removed and used to create something new would cause the most-recently built thing to fail. In the starting case, it was Atlas. So using the staff for something else means Atlas will fail. The staff was used to create New Penny, with the carefully-worded instructions of "Robot parts and the virus," paraphrasing. So the Penny that terminates is actually technically New Penny, whereas Old Penny is technically her old self but with a human body having replaced her metal body...? So her soul manifested a body on its own...? Because the staff being used to create this worm-hole system would mean New Penny fails, so.... New Penny is actually what looks like Old Penny, and Old Penny is really what looks like New Penny?

With the warning of "don't fall," it makes me thing of the No OSHA Compliance trope. Wonder who's going to die in Episode 13 (or 14) based on that.

Anyway, looking forward to next week. Gotta say, this has been one of the better seasons of the nearly 8 full total.

The Week Late Train steams into the apparently-penultimate episode of Season 8...

Exiting those portals into a sandstorm feels like coming out of hyperspace right into a asteroid shower... Our coordinates are right, only no Alderaan.

That central platform is right out of a Smash Brothers level.

Oh, okay, they're using that flash-back mode again. I actually kinda am liking this now on the second time in as many episodes.

Ugh. Cinder better not kill Emerald. I am going to be so pissed if, right after my like 5 seasons of hoping Emerald goes good finally comes true, she gets the axe.

And that's why you don't let people like Watts live. And also why you don't leave someone's weapons lying right next to their cell. Good Lord.

Don't fall down, eh? Well F. *slams head against desk* I'm not going to stop watching this series, but they've just eliminated a particularly large reason why I started watching it in the first place and have continued to do so. Dammit.

Now I'm pissed.

The Week Late Train pulls into Terminal 14 of Season 8...

Ah, Salem as the T-1000 again. Just takes a while for the mercury to all flow back to the central spot.

Ironwood's BFG has a bit too high rate of fire. It's OP. Might need to Nerf it in the next patch.

Sooooooo..... just saying she's your friend gets her to stop her homicidal bent? Um.... well, that was easy.

Man, there are a lot of auras being exhausted in this fight by the good team, but... they keep fighting as if nothing is wrong. And now we have Crescent Rose lost. Seriously, writers, I'm getting perturbed here.

MY GOD. My biggest pet peeve in fiction. SENSE. OF. URGENCY. The countdown is at like 20 seconds and you're taking like 15 seconds of goodbyes. What is wrong with you people!?

Oh, so, well, there's now an exceptional chance that the "Don't Fall Down" warning isn't really *that* bad unless this episode title ("The Final Word") means this series is over in about 15 more minutes.

Are you serious with this crap? Dear God. Go through ALLLLL of that trouble with Penny for THIS? F everything.

I guess Winter is sort of like a Jedi deflecting that blast back. Cool.

So, that's how season 8 ends. They were doing so well up until those last 2 episodes. It's basically how I look at "Fury" as a movie; did really, really well, and then just totally screwed up the last act. Yet another good, interesting character goes by the wayside, and still we have ones hanging around that absolutely suck. *sigh* Well, we'll see what happens in about 9 months or so. Until then, folks, the Week Late Train is heading into the shed for an overhaul.

A lot of people says that the brothers had a sister. She didn't like the way they do things and left them to create her world with her rules.

Sooooo, I just watched all of vol.8, in one sitting. Here's what I got from it:

- Plot: while the plot certainly progresses, it's done at a horribly slow pace. Half the volume revolves around Penny and the staff of Creation, and the other half on its aftermath. There's a lot that's done, and at first, I would argue Ironwood was right to cut his losses and make the logical choice, but after the bomb debacle, the scales were too tipped in favour of the villains.
- Characters: Speaking of Ironwood, the moment he nearly executed poor Marrow for speaking his mind, I knew he was a lost cause - and he actually executed Zaques in cold blood, with no motive. "Kill the people to save the city" is not a great catchphrase, but at least his downfall left room for Winter to finally sever her ties to him and become her own character.
Ren's resolution was great, quick and to the point. His chat with Nora was illuminating, for both of them, and I look forward to seeing what the latter can find out about herself.
Whitley finally decided to play nice, like a rational human being would do, hurray!!!
Penny only exists to cause pain, I hope she somehow survived, even without powers, as a regular human. How many times can you kill a character, is she going for the Krillin record!?
On the enemy side of things, Hazel was set up to die defying Salem, and Mercury's always been a prick.
In fact, I'm genuinely surprised by Emerald's decision to actually switch sides and not play triple agent, because she's been on the Cinder ship forever. Can't say she won't, but here's hoping she can fill a gap as a huntress.
OTOH Cinder has fallen as low as possible, simply wanting everything for herself, because... she's crazy? Boring.
Neo has always been a mystery, and she will remain as such, along with her INSANE power level that could probably match a Maiden at this point, despite being a mere mortal and all that.
Arthur Watts, a man after my own heart, can scheme and play on any table he wants, he spits some sick facts right in Cinder's face, but somehow expected to survive, both Cinder's pettiness AND the fall of the entire city? I mean, sure, I hate Cinder even more for burning him alive, but he wouldn't have escaped anyway...
- Animation: there's been a marked improvement in ambience and environment, from flame and water effects to townscaping, but the combat area seems to have taken a hit. Not that it's not well-animated, but the fights are definitely shorter; whether it's due to limited runtime or not enough time to do more with them, I don't know, but at least the ground battles are solid.

All in all, a pretty average volume. 6/10, although I can't rightly say if it could have been more.

That'd be nice about Penny.

Considering this is fiction, I'm not 100% sold yet on Watts... I mean, it's highly likely, but... we don't *know*.

penny should have just been turn evil and they could have killed off cinder and had penny be a double maiden lets be real
there was no point in bring penny back i think they were going to kill her off at fist but some were along the waythey change thing around the 6 week break

and dont get me started on salem
why was she there it would have been better to have it were were learn salem kids were alive an that she turn them all evil and they were sent to attack atlas

salem just set there had one fight with hazle
attacked oscar and got blasted away

didn't do much penny had 2 fights with cinder and ace ops and they were the only good fights

ruby did nothing same with blake,weiss did family bs

they did nothing to stop cinder or salem or towed the plot
it was all about ,weiss family,penny and other bs

ruby had the set up to really show her feeling that she been holding back but thats it
she lied yang half called her out on it and then she cried on the steps about how her plan to have other fix her problems for her

they felp some people,oscar got kidnapped by ozma ex ,hurt by magic ,abused by hazle, yang an rin had a fight in the snow ,got arrested by winter and ace ops ,tried to save oscar but he was doing it better with out them ,then oscar destroyed the salem and monstro and they go back with them rnbw +penny and set around a house for an episode

i had to put oscar in his own spot even thouth he was with yang,rin,jaune

oscar pine the main character at this point and im ok with it

oscar,confronted salem,turn hazle,got emerald on there side ,talk to ozma,got the other to forgive ozma,help team rwby jnr get in to the vualt and convinsded the others to let emerld to help them,

and then there are the last 4 episodes
they were a rushed mass why did they do it like that the way yang droped in to volume 9 was wired every member of team rwby can basicly fly ,nora can fly,penny can fly ,and your telling me none of them could save yang the only reason all the girls and jaune droped in to wonderland island was for plot thats it ,the other wil think their died and and get more development them team rwby +jaune
even if they fainly do show team rwby getting development it feels 8-9 year to late i think at best we only care about how the team going to get back home ,if there going to be a time skip ,ozma /oscar merge


im sorry and i now many will say why dont you stop watching if you dont like the show but iv liked rwby up tell this volume this voulme had a good start why were episodes 1-5 and 8 the only good episode

Man this haitus is rough. But we have news - an expectation for it to be released this year.

I do feel bad for RWBY. The creators, the fans, the animators... the expectations have always been so high for this series, and with the extra wait and development put into Volume 9 in such a difficult day + age, and it being a part of such a crucial juncture of the story as well.

Basically, Team RWBY Project will announce something new on March 26, 2022, 9:30 AM (GMT+9) on Anime Japan 2022, and this will be livestreamed via Youtube Live (with EN translations) and Twitter Live (in Japanese).

Presenters include Saori Hayami (Ruby Rose), Yoko Hikasa (Weiss Schnee), Yu Shimamura (Blake Belladonna) and Ami Koshimizu (Yang Xiao Long).
