I think the poll tracker for the first match is broken. It's missing around 27 vote compared to the other two match. If all of them are Kuuko's votes, the match looks competitive which I guess is still pretty good for Chinatsu.

Time to see if Kuuko and the Nyaruko contingent can continue to gather votes in the main round. Chinatsu will likely be looking for a redemption win for Yuruyuri. I was surprised by Sonya's performance in the prelims, but I'm not sure if it'll be enough to top Erica.

I feel like Chinatsu's actually winning her match despite the fake votes. Even with 30 more votes added to Sonya, Erica still took over her. Yune's not so behind Erica so there might be a three way happening.

Just caught back up with this recently (so thanks to Aya Reiko for the spreadsheet update! ).

For the most part, I really like the results so far. I'm glad that Saki is doing well... but not so well that being a Saki character is an auto-first round win. The Saki characters that are advancing are all characters of some import, and that's good to see.

I also liked how Ringo Oginome won a round, and how the K-On! girls are getting some victories at least.

So far this tournament is playing out in a way that I find pretty pleasing. It's funny, my tastes in moe seem to align more with the Japanese than international anime fans.

So far only one match pissed me off (Miki > Mokkan), even that match is kind of a toss-up. I guess the lack of Madoka just winning everything by 300 votes helps (Although, yeah, my hate last year is more towards Biribiri since she knock out two of my favorite in Homuhomu and Victorique...)

Well, it's mainly b/c so far, it had been either the super strong Saki girls (i.e. Tacos/Koromo/Saki/Toki, etc.) or the super weak (Awai, Komaki). If any weaker Saki girls win, it's still b/c their opponent are actually not that strong in the first place...(None so far, but D07 would be an example of that...Teru should win just b/c her opponents are even weaker).

And pretty much the only Saki-related match that's a toss-up is Shizu v. Kyouko. Saki won that handily, but you can't say Shizu just win b/c she's from Saki. After all, she's the main heroine from Achiga. Yes, Maho nearly won against Saki, but it's 1st day, and did anyone really expect Maho to win? I didn't...

Right. Plus, Shizu got over 400 votes, which is more than what most Saki girls got in the first round. Shizu is one of the strongest girls in Saki, so it's not like she's just benefiting from being a Saki girl.

Teru vs. Kyouno Madoka... If that Madoka was exceptionally good at mahjong, this would make an epic mahjong match for the psychological aspect alone.

I take it that Lagrange's Madoka isn't considered very popular in the moe competition world?
