Here's a more recent trailer. I'm looking forwards to this one: it will fill the void that Koisuru Asteroid leaves

I think this is most likely my first fishing anime. The first episode did a decent job introducing the main characters and the hobby. It didn't avoid the usual tropes like MC from the city moving back to the countryside and meeting up with her childhood friend but it was relaxing enough. It could be fairly educational too. I don't know a lot about fishes.

Well...the club president is rather iffy. Effectively forcing someone to join her club through abusing phobias...lovely human being there. Maybe there's a reason her club is on the verge of oblivion? Well one is probably the person running it and the other is the terrible name. Just call it the fishing club.

Overall the episode was fine. Certainly you don't see many fishing anime. And this was honestly fine. The main character is likable and the other characters are....well there.

Probably will keep up with it. Doesn't hurt that this is a pretty dead day for anime this season.

if it's a Doga Kobo anime, I shall immediately bite. No pun intended.

enjoyed Koisuru, and will probably enjoy this one too.

I don't think she's as awful as she appears to be. She was willing to let Hina quit the club after all. Granted, she definitely shouldn't have taken advantage of her weakness to force her to join in the first place.

I know the club president is supposed to be sounding like a country bumpkin, but to my ears, her pronunciation doesn't sound that different from city girl Hina's. Much less than a Tennessee or Alabama accent sounds different from a neutral American accent. Is that just because I don't speak Japanese?

Watched episode 1:

tentacle monster help in the blackmail of Hina into the club.

those small fish they caught look tasty!

can relate a bit to this as I experienced fishing using that rod with many hooks. I caught one fish using shrimp meat as bait, but got badly sunburned, was in pain for days.

7/10 for first ep.

I just crossed the finish line for the first episode, moments before the second episode aired. I love the scenery and the music, and have two remarks:
  1. The town is set in Sashiki in Kumamoto, and it's nearly a three-and-a-half hour journey to get there from the Fukuoka Airport.
  2. There's nothing about Yūki's personality to say she drove off the Breakwater Club's other members. This sort of thing ventures into the territory of unnecessary, extraneous drama that would defeat the point of this anime as being a relaxing slice-of-life.
Onwards to the second episode!

The second episode was really fun and relaxing. I laughed hard when Hina tried casting her line the first time (you'll see).

I tried to pay more attention while watching the second episode, and while she does have an accent, it doesn't come across as very thick to me either.

All 12 eps of Yesterday wa Utatte TV run were ready by the season start as I heard. And at least a few other ones should be fine.
