My reading is the same as Enzo's; it's likely the voicing that's the biggest concern. Typically the seiyuu are in a small studio together with not enough room for social distancing, and they naturally cannot speak their lines behind masks.

Finally back. That was a fun episode. Educational too! I didn't know this kind of squid changes color when it gets killed. Is the process as fast as it was in the anime?

The process occurs because of the contraction of certain muscles in the squid, which control pigmentation. When the squid dies, the neural impulses stop, and these muscles stop contracting. The pigments dilute, resulting in the loss of colour. The anime got the speed right, as well: this happens in an instant.
