Yūki's haikyu is spot on: the practise for clamming is to keep the bigger ones and leave the small ones so they have a chance to grow. Meanwhile, Sayaka brings back memories of Yuru Camp's very own Minami, right down to the reasons for advising a club and an inhuman ability to drink enough beer to impress Futurama's Bender.

This is such a fun show to watch.
But they left out the smell. The mud is not only oozy but it stinks as well. I would not be a happy camper if I had just rolled around in it. Also sometimes this show makes me wonder if Tarantino is on the production committee. |

OK, this show just fell a couple of notches in my book. The drunken-sensei is just about my most hated meme in anime. From personal experience, there's nothing funny about alcoholism.
I lived a few minutes from flats like those some years back. The ones that have that oily tar sand beneath the surface are rather gross to walk on.

For the curious, Hina and Natsumi get their supplies from Tenguya Fishing Tackle Shop in Sashiki. The store also sells copies of the manga now, as well

Ohno confirmed absolute best girl. She's really good at teaching and I loved how she worried so much she stayed behind Hina the whole time so she could grab her in case she fell.
Second half was also good. Got to see a rare side of Natsumi. Hina having actually made a plushie to practice gutting was just super creepy

I finally confirmed that club president Yuki is left-handed. I thought I'd spotted that in the ED sequence (she fist-pumps with the opposite hand from the others, and her pole is pointing in the opposite direction), and this week I finally remembered to pay attention during the episode. That's only the second left-handed anime character I've ever noticed, the first being Yukina in The Rolling Girls.
At first I thought Hina was finally getting used to the creepy-crawlies, but then she had to take the shrimp off the hook and it was right back to square one. |

The ninth episode deals with safety and responsibility, two aspects of fishing that I'm glad the series covered. It's a nice way to show how to keep afloat if one should fall into the water, as well as the importance of cleaning up after oneself so the wildlife don't suffer for our lack of concern.

That was a really great episode. I didn't think this show would tackle such an issue, and it did so very well. It didn't feel forced and fit perfectly into the narrative. I'm really impressed.
These automatically inflatable belts were neat, but a needless expense. Just wear regular life jackets, they do the job.
