Yeah, but it's a bit different when you consider the Japanese only have words for older and younger siblings, not generic terms like simply "brother" or "sister". Most anime are still culturally Japanese in terms of how characters interact even when they're in a non-Japanese setting.

Money on her getting power up from Hei at one point or another in one way or another.

They are impractical since modern tank armor is too heavy and things like a anti tank missiles were much easier to carry into battle and use. Today, they are obsolete, they do not carry sufficient punch to do anything. Should work against those armor cars, however realistically besides going though the armor and killing one soldier from the small battalion it won't do much else. The gun is probably PTRD-41 (one shot). I'm with Suou, its utter junk.

Suou isn't your average 13yr old in the suburb so isn't it reasonable that's she's physically stronger and more mature? Also, the ATR she picked up looked like it was missing a bunch of parts and that's just from what the eye can see, it would not surprise me if there were even more things missing internally.
Speaking of power-ups, I hope she gets some in the chest area as the series goes along (kinda like how Ed Elric gets taller in FMA).

I always get my hopes up on protagonists, not only because they go through the most changes in the story, but because I think she's meant to change everyone around her as well.

I'm inclined to believe she won't start the killing because there are plenty of people who can do it for her (Hei, Shion, etc.) and because someone has to keep their hands clean in order to have a higher position of speech, which casually goes to the main character.

Hei and her won't be toghether all the time.
Actually i think they will be seperated very soon. And a higher position of speech because you haven't killed ? Come on, it is Darker than Black. We don't need a moralteaching-loli besides Hei, certainly not. And what you are saying is wrong. Hei was the protagonist of the first season. He killed pretty many people, hasn't he? Believe what you want. I hope i am confirmed very soon. |

Well Hei was clearly not a hero, he was introduced as an assassin and all, while Suou is "just another girl", y'know? Of course, this IS DTB so the probability of what you said being the way things turn out is there too...I just like to get my hopes high
