Good to see that this show is back on track after it took a week off.

A few rather uneventful happenings and some boring stuff within the Kougon sect.
It pisses me off being hindered by the language barrier, because I want to know the developments in this episode.

dont forget thekougon keep telling ouri that hes the child of a shikabane and his brother just confirmed that they were both killed in saying our mother killed "us" and then proceeds to ask the question why are you the only one living?

remember it takes a certain amount of time to become a shikabane and her clock started wen her happyness monster was destroyed i think?

WOW, maybe I should pick up the manga then, at least I won't have to listen to 2 annoying VAs all the time

But, since I caught up with ep.8 in general it's not that bad, I actually enjoy the show, despite its various (sometimes crippling) flaws.

This manga is merely average. The story line was expanded, but not that interesting. It takes much time for fighting scene with non-boss character. Though, Ouri is more manly.

If anime get 6.5 points, Manga will get 5.0 points

yea imo the manga really isn't worth reading, especially if you like the anime, the only thing they really share is keisei's death scene other than that their pretty much seperate entities, and the early manga took on a more monster of the week approach that was very different from the begining of aka. At this point I'm done with both sereis, their ok, but the toned down guro was annoying in the anime, and the story in the manga is just too disjointed.

Does anyone know the song is called in episode 2 where Makina remembers Kesei and starts to fight back? I remember hearing it back in aka also but I don't seem to find it on the OST.

There's a soundtrack for Kuro being released in April. Will probably appear on that.

Spoiler: I think it's interesting that the most important piece of development in the entire episode was left as a simple one-liner, when the blue-haired guy said that oori was the child of a corpse. This may be developed upon later on, but there doesn't seem to be enough episodes to do so.

And the only other real entertaining thing is Makina's fight, which doesn't really go anywhere. Ouri himself goes through the whole episode planning to save Makina without actually getting there... Though at least we learn the identity of that Ichigo shikabane, and the next episode looks good(?). The face distortions... Scary-funny. Lots of bouncing breasts, huh... Spoiler: Akasha is having second thoughts right, because even if his wish gets granted with the Shichisei destroying the Kougon sect he's still gotten that lingering feeling of unhappiness. Something he attributes to Hokuto and that Shikabane Hime. Can I foresee that Akasha might hold a speck of redemption at playing an unexpected role that would at least make things right for Ouri and Makina? The late episodes will tell, until then. Spoiler for Hokuto: When I thought that Priscilla's Claymore lost any perception about distinguishing reality from her memories and losing average sanity, Shikabane Hokuto is straightforwardly cuckoo out of her psychotic mind. Her face fluctuated from the monochromatic, robotic look to the deranged, homicidal killer whenever Makina got up or sparked a comment that made gung-ho the former. Hokuto talked about a certain shining, which she saw within Makina. However, the best part which made for pure gold was Makina bitch slapping Hokuto over and over across the face like a piñata. Spoiler for Ouri: Now, this was what I call a unexpected twist development. Ouri got confirmation from that nee-san at the orphanage, what the Kougon sect disclosed to him. Little before Ouri was brought into the orphanage, Keisei, Akasha, and Sadahiro investigated the mysterious slaughter of many groups of children at the park. The culprit was yet to be found, but Ouri dives into his memory to found out about a Shikabane responsible for the massacre. This was the first time ever we got to see Akasha's Shikabane Hime. Meanwhile, Hazama of the Shichisei orders that Ichigo-look-alike to dispose of Ouri, who he delights at accepting the offer. He kidnaps the children at the orphanage and brought them all over at the same park where that incident happened years ago. When Ouri finds out and goes to the rescue the cat appears again, revealing that Ouri's relative or sibling is at the hand of this nefarious scheme. But Ouri's surprise doesn't end at all, until he comes to the park, and the vindictive Shichisei reveals that he was one of the children who fell victim to the slaughter caused by Ouri's mother, a Shikabane. The flashback shows a towering, grotesque Shikabane and by its side stands a little kid, chibi-Ouri, staring with blank eyes at the sight of the slaughter.

And reveals through quite a bit of stuff, like why Ouri is a Shikabane's child and Hokuto's existence and stuff... The attack on the Shikabane group has finally started too. -In other words, Ouri didn't do anything wrong... And the shikabane is just hating on him... -I forgot about Makina... -The cat's betrayal felt a bit sudden... And her death was so simple too... -I wonder how much of a trauma the whole thing is going to be for the children... (-_- -Ouri can use skills?! I thought he couldn't... -Sudden-air-bombing... -Hokuto really is kowai-kawaii Preview: ?Nn? Deathkillz ~ You're dead ^__^* ~ Graphic Designer Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: uk, England Age: 34	ep 9 Spoiler: While I still don't have much of a clue on the actual story of this series, I can definitely feel that it is reaching the climax. Not surprisingly Ouri has had a deep connection with the shikabanes since back then he was turned into one when his mother went on a rampage and destroyed a lot of children (big question mark for me here...how did it come to this?). The cat betraying Ouri then joining his side again was unexpected...and sudden but I don't think that she (it) is dead yet. Makina on the other hand gets a royal butt kicking but through some plot hole heals all of her wounds just before the support arrives. For episode 9 Spoiler: For the first time, since Keisei's death, Shikabane Hime managed to pull out a deep and dramatic moment. Makina, literally, fell down once realizing that defeating Hokuto is meaningless, according to both Akasha's tale and her previous experiences with the Shichisei. It felt like a tear was about to come rolling down my cheek when I watched Hokuto psychotically thrashing Makina around and dragging her lifeless body all over the lair. The moment that Makina snapped in reflection of her memories for Keisei and then Ouri I rooted at full steam for her, as she sucker-punched Hokuto square on the chin. Spoiler for Hokuto: Due to the language barrier I could not understand much of Hokuto's background, but Akasha's tale made one thing clear: either Hokuto is 'death' herself or Hokuto brings forth 'death' by her hands in every of her homicidal urges; that albino won't stop killing. Now switching to Ouri, I do not believe that the cat betrayed Ouri in the strict context of the word. Spoiler for The cat: If I understood correctly, the cat happened to be, nonetheless, a collective Shikabane amalgamation of consciousness belonging to the kids slaughtered by Ouri's mother on that day; that's what I think it is. The cat displayed an empathic reaction of sorts towards Ouri, when he either regretted, apologized, or admitted something to which he was struck with grief. This cause on the cat to switch sides and helping Ouri to restrain the Shikabane form from eating the children.
