Yeah, I can't believe I'm saying this but this might be even better than season one, even at season one's best. I sincerely hope it stays consistent and doesn't lose its edge towards the end like I felt season one did.

I'm leaning towards Kaiser recognizing Azazel due to his comment about "Those wings..." in episode one.

I could also use a bit of a refresher on season one. I've started mine, but I've only covered the first three episodes thus far.

That ED! That ED is fantastic!
No, everything is fantastic. Why is this show so good when GBF is such a pile of garbage!?

I am suspecting him to be some mix blood of different races.
He has two different colors, at the very least.

I think Jeanne was shown in a couple of the PVs, she is indeed being imprisoned and it looks like it has been for a while.

I am interested in where Lucifer is. He lived in the demon capital, did Charioce take him out too?

And I too don't think Mugaro is an angel or at least not a regular one. I wonder how much Azazel knows? Being a fallen angel himself and having interacted with and fought angels and the gods, he would know the gods' power when he saw it, and I noted when Mugaro first used his power in the area, it had the golden glow of the gods rather than the purple hue of the demons. So, Azazel should know that at least of some of Mugaro's power comes from the gods. Someone noted that he never actually says that Mugaro is a demon. He only says that the human cut off his wings and destroyed his voice. Both are things that both species has.

Some have suggested that Mugaro could be the reincarnation of the archangel Michael who was one of the most powerful of the archangels. It could be possible that his power is strong enough to combat whatever it is Charioce is using. Also, Mugaro looks like a kid of about 10 or so, so it would fit with the timeline.

The most telling thing was that Michael also shares the exact same heterochromia, with one eye being blue, and the one covered by his hair, being purple/red.

If I remember correctly Azazel suffered from a pretty big fall from grace after attacking the capital and failing thanks to Jeanne. He got patched up by Rita, and kind of helped to stop Bahamat and actually worked together with Kaiser in the last battle. So, I think it became a "you worked with us and saved the world so while we aren't friends we have reached an understanding" thing. Or at least that's what I remember.

Of course, I'm looking forward to see how exactly Charioce got the power to do that in the first place.
The thing is, it's happy for now, but it really feels like the Roman Empire and how it eventually fell in on itself. Killing all the other races and isolating itself is not going to earn humans any favors. If something huge like Bahamut shows up again and that green power doesn't work on it, then humanity is doomed, because its majorly the gods and demons fighting that thing, humanity sticks to the background. In the end man's arrogance will cause them to destroy themselves.

And any magic with lime green color is bound to be evil...

That's more or less it. Azazel was rescued by Rita and Bacchus after he got owned by Kaisar/Jeanne and then later Beelzebub. At first, he didn't want anything to do with that end of the world crap, but he eventually rescued Kaisar (after he fell for like the fourth time ) and they teamed up against the bad guys, although teaming up may be too strong a word. Their goals just happened to align.

Anyway, there is no way he didn't recognize Azazel. I just think that after what happened in the first season where he pursued revenge against Favaro for years and eventually realized he was mistaken, he probably doesn't want to get consumed by revenge again, even if he knows who the true culprit is this time. In fact, he seemed to be advising Azazel to give up on getting revenge on the humans despite their misdeeds, and to try to find another path. The old Kaisar would have been going all "AZAZEEEELLLLL!!!" on him, but he has matured and gotten wiser since then.

The idea that Mugaro could be Michael's reincarnation is interesting. I hadn't thought of that. I kind of figured Jeanne would inherit his powers since he told her his spirit would always be with her before dying, but reincarnating wouldn't contradict what he said.

As soon as Nina started talking about her master who was a bounty hunter, I just knew she was talking about Favaro. I didn't expect him to be involved in this manner! I can't wait for his come-back.

Maybe I'm slow on the uptake, but I didn't realize Rocky was Kaisar's hand. It was really funny to see Rita refer to Kaisar as its father. Speaking of Kaisar, it's now been made crystal clear he recognized Azazel, since he mentioned him by name in this episode.

The way the gods were talking about Mugaro makes me think he's more important than merely Michael's reincarnation. Not sure who he could be though.

By the end of the third episode I was sitting with a silly, satisfied grin on my face. I am loving this!

Favaro wasn't exactly trustworthy.

I actually kind of miss that, yelling "FAAVAAAROOOOOOO!!!" just about every episode D0=. I know he's matured and all, but he seems.... less entertaining than the first season because of it so far =0(.

Man, that brought back some funny moments =03. Favaro really made the show; he probably won't pop up until, like, ep 7 or 8, but I will def be awaiting his return.

edit:Come to think it, its kind of unusual for Favaro to 'settle down' long enough to train a student. I wonder if there is some kind of connection between the Bahamut/Amira incident at the end, and him ending up in the dragon village. I know what the old sage Dragon said, but a man can hope =03.

The second Nina started talking about her mentor, you immediately knew she was talking about Favaro. I'm really looking forward to his return and seeing what role he plays this time.

The fact that Kaiser wants to save Azazel really shows how much he has changed from what he was like in season 1.

I heard Favaro being mentioned from episode 3. Really hope he shows up sometimes this season.

Also, I didn't know Nina was such a good arm wrestler.

Look, people. Favaro isn't back until Kaiser says his trademark phrase, "Favarooooo!"

Episode 3: This king definitely isn't human. One of my favorite aspects of this show is how not even the villains are safe from the divine hand of comedy.

An interesting episode. It shows a different side of Charioce and that he lost someone important to him and he and Nina have some fated connection. However, it doesn't excuse his genocidal behavior and it will do him in in the end. Star-crossed fascination indeed.

I like that Nina finds out Azazel is in trouble and immediately runs to his rescue without a second thought.

I'm wondering who the child is, though I'm still betting on child Michael.

Favaro being Nina's teacher was unexpected by funny. At first when she mentioned it my mind went back to Amira and Martinet. But I was happy it was Favaro.

Azazel looked awesome at the end facing all that alone. He's like the last stand against the king and his evil soldiers.

Ep 03

Count me in among those who really enjoyed the third episode.

I also find that I am actively "Boooo'ing" and "Hissssss'ing" Charioce, and am already looking to when "the cat will mew and dog will have his day" (as the old saying goes). Good job making him thoroughly unpleasant but not revolting.

Also am enjoying Nina's character more and more, and was kinda interested tosee the gods and angels step into the story like that. Very interesting, and definitely a keeper!

To think that, going by Satou's comments in the season 1 artbook, Azazel was originally meant to die halfway into the first season! He's such a fun character, and while I always liked him now he's actually taking over Kaisar's place as my favorite. (Kaisar is just not the same without Favaro, so Favaro, come baaaack!) Although now I'm starting to worry, maybe they're building him up just to kill him? I'd hate that....

Also, Rocky is Kaisar's hand. That's... actually all sorts of creepy? And not in a "Rita is a zombie, she does creepy things" way. In Kaisar's place I'd be really freaked out.

As for Charioce, he's one of the main characters so I'm sure there's more to him than we've seen so far. But there's one thing that makes me wonder: in season 1 the king was Charioce XIII. Our guy now is Charioce XVII! Just what happened during those ten years?? (All those poor other Charioces.)

My boy Favaro is finally mentioned. I miss that old ronald mcdonald bounty hunting m*therfucker who's surprisingly popular with strong and bubbly pink haired girls. A shame this show isn't quite popular.

Considering what we see here, I'm actually wondering if Charioce will end up being the "Delilah" to Nina's "Samson". We know she's very young and naive and I have no doubt that someone like Charioce can manipulate her. Perhaps next episode the red dragon comes to Azazel's rescue and Charioce find out somehow that it's Nina. I can see him using his charms on her in order to find out more about her and her people. Remember how somehow she told her mother that "no one can find out the truth about her secret in transforming into a dragon"?

I can see Nina, thinking herself in love, telling Charioce and him using it against her. And against her people. I know that one of the PV's talked about a love that gets broken. It would be a harsh lesson to learn, but I can see that as a reason that Nina leaves the capital, to correct the mistake she made.

That or whatever deal he made to get the power that he got, gives him super strength. Some have noted that Charioce doesn't need the armor and green stones that the Onyx soldiers use to fight. His power seems to come naturally, like he holds the power inside himself.

I'd hate for them to kill off Kaiser, yet, I also wouldn't be surprised. That young soldier Alessand I feel is going to go evil at come point and he might backstab Kaiser feeling that the man is bringing trouble onto the knights. Or he might feel betrayed if he finds out that Kaiser warned Azazel and cares about him.

As for Charioce, while listings can be good, I'll wait until the show actually shows me he's a main character before I just assume he has that status. And even if he did, it's pretty much as main character main villain status as of right now. I mean, I consider a MC one whose actions and story move the plot along. In that capacity, Azazel is a bigger MC than Nina right now, though I'm sure that might change as time goes on. I'm sure we'll get more character for Charioce. It probably won't make much of a difference on how I feel about him since he's pretty much advocating genocide simply because "he can". But I would like to see more about the "why", and perhaps some of the "hows" would be nice too.

And you are right about the missing Charioces. We went from 13 to 17, which means we have three Charioces missing. Though ten years is not long enough for that many to have popped up and be actually older than the current king, who was already a young man when the end of season 1 happened. My guess is perhaps they suffered the fate of many medieval children and died at very young ages, perhaps even as babies. They would still be acknowledged by their name, which would have lead to current Charioce being the XVII.

Well, Favaro might not have been mentioned until episode 3, but he's been in the end credits already, being carted off in a cage, no less.
