The one with the mini excavator one seems pretty safe/smart honestly; especially if it's just a bit of shade while they eat.

I think it comes down to how youths are usually reckless and stupid, and will put themselves in dangerous situations because they kinda think they are invincible, or that a tragic death will never happen to them, etc., and then the typical parent is protective and youths think they are overprotective, and really the adults just think back to their days as stupid, reckless youths.

It's designed for console use, and you gotta scroll through lists to find anything if you have a large spell list or inventory. You got to back out of each to scroll through the next section, etc. It's just not very ergonomic at all on the computer version of the game.
