The beginning was so weird with the tank... I thought I had the wrong anime.
That bald guy. For some reason, I couldn't stop thinking of Lex Luthor. The missing dad part is SO cliché. Lance ran out of orbs and didn't realized it unitl it was too late ? That's kind of lame. We saw Sonia at the end and in ED, so yeah. But probably only Sonia.

holy molly!! for a kid's show that promotes a video game, this has the most beautiful animation i have seen this season!! everything moves smooth & slick!!,
to me it blew Toei's Digimon Adventure Tri out of the water in terms of art direction, Studio Pierrot did a great job there, i hope they keep up the quality for the rest of the episodes. |

Surprisingly fun show. When I saw the advertisement art I thought "Digimon". When I saw the first couple minutes of the first episode I thought "Gate". Overall the slightly more mature setup is pretty entertaining. And I was amused by the part where Charo asked to sleep with Ace. I was thinking the same thing, I'd spent the last couple episodes going back and forth between boy and girl for Charo. Well, that means Hal doesn't have too much competition I guess (I know it's a kids' mon show but I love to see minor semi-romances develop in these sorts of things).

I gave the 1st episode a try yesterday out of curiosity. Yes, it's a kids' show with all that implies, but it was surprisingly compelling. I watched the rest of the episodes right away as a result and am looking forward to more.

Sad to see this series getting no attention in so long. I know it's generic and it's nothing but a minor casual entertainment for me, but still. Anyway, the newest episode was interesting. Apparently we'll be saying goodbye to Tiger for a while. He worked together with his childhood friend growing up to become Dragon Callers, but his friend Rose left him behind after she noticed that he was constantly having to rely on her (he even wasn't able to catch his first monster without serious help from her). She's disappointed to find that he hasn't changed since then, still relying on others rather than improving himself, and thus his monsters haven't grown at all while hers have already evolved. They'd promised to reach the top together, and she'd left him with the promise to meet at the top. Now I'm just hoping in the relatively-near future we'll see Tiger, having trained himself, facing off against Rose and demonstrating some serious growth to her. I want her to be able to walk away confident that her dear friend will be there to meet her at the top as promised.

It's a pretty okay series, the main plot hasn't kicked in yet. But I like it because it give me something light to watch on the weekends. |
