Yeah, they're not cheap. I think Maki's are generally more expensive ,though. There's something about anime characters wearing real expensive audio gear that's really hot.

I wonder what Sanae and Shiori are rockin.

Looking closer, these designs look more Kuromukuro rather than Shirobako.

They brought all five girls together and even though they failed, they still learned a little. it seems like they are going to have spend some time building the relationship between these girls since unlike Shirobako, these girls don't start off as friends.

Maybe the first ED from Shinsekai Yori with that augmented guitar riff?

Sorry; dynamic content not loaded. Reload?

I don't think this one holds a candle to "Wareta Ringo" though.

And our poor protagonist really has a weakness for fortune telling. My PA senses tell me this will be a potential ending.

Can't really feel the charm from the other girls yet, but well, this takes time.

Is this one cour or two? Dun think one cour is long enough to deliver a good drama/story.

So far, characters are feeling realistic; that's good. This whole product selling fiasco better be teaching her to be comfortable in her new place, otherwise it was just like a filler episode. But, based on what she said, she is evolving and learning to find joy in her new life. So, it's kind of a small hint at Yoshino progressing. We don't want to end up with another Little Witch Academia main character. Lol!
The transitions periodically get fast between scenes, but I think this would be a better experience as a more moderately paced SoL. The show actually isn't labeled as slice of life; just comedy. I don't know why. It really hasn't been super funny at all yet; just a chuckle here and there. I don't know what this show is trying to be.

Guys, is Shirobako significantly better than this? If so, I might just go watch that instead. lol

Do watch Shirobako. The first arc (first 12 eps) is a bit boring in the first 2 and middle episodes, but the second arc is amazing from start to finish.

I would rewatch it myself again if I had the time.

EDIT: I should slowly rewatch this ep again. Just realised there was so many new outfits. Definitely PA Works putting in their fashion sense into it again.

Loved it, from the characters, to the story and the pacing. That is just my thing. I'm really glad they introduced the main characters so soon, so we can have more town stories and secundaries next episodes I really think Yoshino is going to patch up things with the dagashi store

@Nicky, watch Shirobako, you won't regret it at all

Totally agree, guys. I'm 8 episodes into Shirobako and it's well on it's way to a 10/10.

The second episode was a good improvement, though mainly because of one scene where all the characters discussed what Tokyo meant to them. It still feels awfully "PA Works Formulaic" and more than I expected it to so I hope it can differentiate itself more as it goes along.

Omg I know. Lately, I have unintentionally watched a few different anime by PA Works and they really do feel the same.
I mean, if it sells then more power to them. XD

What would be examples of more similar stuff from PA Works? Besides Shirobako, I mean.

Hanasaku Iroha and to a smaller extent Tari Tari and Kuromukuro (due to a similar style of comedy)

Given that this is designed to be like Hanasaku Iroha and Shirobaku, I don't consider your first example to be a problem. It's supposed to resemble them: that's the entire point. I have never watched the other two you referenced, so I cannot speak to them. But as far as I'm concerned this series is achieving its goal, and is a good series.

So our hero brings together a group of skilled specialists to revitalise a villages failing tourist industry!

P.S. There all cute girls too, this is completely incidental *nods nods*

On a serous note, put this show on my "my brain is slush and I want to relax" list.

I'm fully aware that they're designed to resemble them and as I said before, I don't actually mind if they do. But I do think it would be nice if they put a bit more focus in the right places. Shirobako may have been made with the same idea in mind as Hanasaku Iroha but the sincerity, focus and love it showed towards the anime making process made it a real winner. If this anime can show that kind of depth then I'd be more than happy. It's just that so far it's been "one-quarter" substance and "three-quarters" zany comedy. But this is just a general observation of a show two episodes in.

I'm happy.

yaaaaay, the Queen has chosen her subordinates! I really liked this episode. The funniest scene to me was Yoshino's reaction to the bus driver revealing that he was the prince back in the day.

The episode really hammered down that Yoshino and co. will have a long uphill battle to rejuvenate the town's tourist biz. I guess that with these losses and setbacks, the group will become much more strong and tight knit. And when something goes their way for once, it will feel so good. On the bright side, they didn't come out of that contest in last place; I wonder who the ones who were placed after them.

I think I get the most jolly feelings and feel the most comfy from this show out of all the shows I'm watching this season. It feels like I'm wrapped in a nice blanket surrounded by some fluffy pillows.

"Just the cold indifference of time's unending march." I would never have expected such an existential comment to come out of the mouth of the Queen of Chupacabraville. For me, it was the highlight of episode 3.

Dear lord, Shiori is an angel I know it's been clear since day one, but this episode really cimented it for me, for some reason.

Not exactly as great as the second one, but this episode did establish very important things, including the kind of battle Koharu and friends will have to go through in order to succeed, just how much is against them, and most importantly, their dynamic as a team will definetly be one of the, if not the highlight of the series.

That said, Koharu did shine in today's episode, and proved that she truly is the only one who can pull this off: a dreamy eyed young idiot who doesn't care for a peaceful life. You know... she kinda sounds like a shounen manga protagonist

Wow, color me surprised. Considering how fast the crew assembled, I thought it would only be 1 cour.

Between this, bahamut and My hero academia , I'm set with anime for a while.

You'd be surprised the kind of things people come up when doing nothing productive.
