That one is something special. I remember watching it week to week just to keep up with the discussion on this very forum. It's unbelievably bad in every way. The story is a joke, the art is absolutely abysmal and of course, we cannot forget the horrible-looking breasts which seemed to fill the screen in every scene we were supposed to take seriously. It's like someone funded a parody as a social experiment.

That being said, the show has a "so bad it's good" quality that makes it a must-watch for any anime buff out there. I'm proud to say I was there when this abomination aired! I might even rewatch it one day.

That later episodes of Higurashi Kira were better than the first (that isn't hard to do). The last one was endearing even. The middle two were fun in their own ways.

I still think Studio Deen has produced more good than bad. Which is more than what I can say about other studios....

I don't hate it per se, but the plot quickly deteriorates and the second half of the show gets pretty ridiculous. Certainly a disappointing outcome after a promising psychological-horror beginning.

It was a terrible adaptation squeezed into 13 episodes and was low budget. Granted the girls were cute and the first episodes weren't bad, but there's really nothing good to come out of it.

And while we're piling on the Deen hate, why not add Samurai Deeper Kyo: Samurai Slideshow and one of the silliest liberties taken with a source material? (Not exactly frisbee level yet) They're also responsible for the shitty part of the Kenshin series.

You know, SDK is one of the worst adaptations ever, making their fans so angry about the anime version, even though the animation looks nice.

Surely you mean character designs right? A lot of the fights are barely animated, like if someone gets hit sometimes they don't even show them get hit; it just shows them flying away.

And there's tons of stills. And these are the fight scenes!

And yea, the plot of the two... well the anime is completely different and suffice to say makes very little sense.

The only thing good about this anime is that in the English dub, Kyo is voiced by Dan Green-- you know, that Yugioh guy.

I don't mean the character-designs (they are almost faithful to the manga), I mean about how the story is butchered. And you are right, the fight scenes are very toned down.

They're responsible for the good parts TOO.

And don't say "that's because the source material was good" because you can use good source story and still turn out a terrible show. It's all about direction, pacing, and execution.

No they aren't. Studio Gallop did the first 2/3rds. Unless you wanna defend the last third of the series; then each to their own.

If you had said the Kenshin prequel OVA you might have had a point.

Honestly, I don't see what's so awful about it but I'm still rather early into the last third and I haven't read the manga past volume 5, I believe....

They basically picked up after Gallop and was the weaker part of the series, as it had mostly filler crap. And that ending of an OVA. :S

It's true they had their work cut out for them but many a fan was not happy at all.

Though it hardly belongs in the frisbee category either.

White Album. The "protagonist", if you can call him that, is easily the most hateable person in all of slice-of-life genre. Well, I didn't know what happened in the end because I dropped from watching it midway on the 2nd season. I was hoping there would be a turn of events but it's just... ugh..

Kuroshitsuji(nevermind the spelling). I have no idea why it became huge hit in Myanimelist. I want to give it 1 but its production qualities(which pretty much wasted anyway) made me to give it at least 3.

To be fair, Season 1 is not bad.....until along came Season 2.
