Looking at the trailer and the cast list, it's a lot better than the average anime dub (does this count as anime?), probably since WB handling it means more trained/experienced actors. The only reservation I have is Yuri Lowenthal being cast as Damian. No matter how I look at it, the role just doesn't fit him. It probably would have been better letting a woman or younger guy voice Damian and either dumping Lowenthal or giving him Tim instead of having Friedle voice both Tim and Jason. Granted, this is giving him the benefit of the doubt that his previous tenure as Red Robin was less than stellar due to a terrible show with a terrible script dumbing down Tim and not due to an inability to portray him.

But it's a moot point since what's done is done, so I'll just settle for cringing whenever Damian opens his mouth.

First two minutes of Batman Ninja, release date is tomorrow. Looks good, seeing Batman in his full outfit standing in a typical medieval Japanese village is rather jarring.

IGN gave it 9.7/10. Not that it means anything but their review seems to suggest the story is just as good as the visuals.

Soooo, after completely forgetting about the trailer of this movie that I had watched way back when, I watched this just now. Everything is chaotic, to different measure:

- Animation. Sometimes perfect, oftentimes too edgy, and for a certain portion of the movie, downright bad.

- Plot. It's like the script writer wanted to figure out what my next sarcastic comment would be and then do just that. Overkill, probably with the intention to be "so bad that it's kinda good", but I lost my shit way too early for that.

- Characters. Batman is the worst one of them all, with Joker coming as a close second. Grodd's intelligence was downplayed, Penguin and Poison Ivy were as good as nonexistent. Also Alfred was like the Jeremy Irons Alfred - too smug for a butler. Best character imo: Catwoman, in both animation and personality.

- Soundtrack: mostly good, made to fit the mood.

Final rating: 3.6/10. Would seriously consider it before watching again.
