Yeah.. There's no one with clean hands. That being said though, since there's no one without guilt to "cast stones" we should all be able to sit down and discuss things .. Not.

It's a sad thing to think about and realize, but even two calm rational people can still get into a war with each other, let alone when it's muddled by god knows how much history, politics and religious matters.. I'm more interested in the fact that "religious fundies" are on both sides of the Syrian struggle.. (ie. Mujahedeen and Al-Qaeda are fighting Hezbollah and Iran )

It isn't so often that you get footage of tank on tank combat in any war.

The last photo has caught my attention. Pretty nice scope for a rebel fighter, huh?

Fancy, but possible to get. If he is suppose to be a sniper, than he'd need one. Considering part of the Syrian Army joined the Rebels it is not outside reason for them to have Army equipment.

The Israeli don't take kindly to being fired at, and respond in the traditional fashion. With even larger explosives.

Israel drawn into Syria conflict, fires missile across border

http://worldnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2...id=msnhp&pos=7

Quote:
The Israeli military has fired a missile into Syria, the first time Israel has been drawn into the fighting in the neighboring country.

The military said it fired the missile as a warning shot on Sunday after a stray mortar from Syria hit a military post in the Golan Heights. Israel captured the Golan from Syria in the 1967 Mideast war and subsequently annexed it.

The military says no damage or injuries were reported inside Israel.

A string of mortar shells have struck the Golan during the Syrian civil war. Israel views the fire as accidental, but nonetheless has warned that it holds Syria responsible.
The rest of the acticle has little to nothing to do with Israel, but focusses on negotioations with new groups in Syria, a Syrian National Coalition. Combining the various rebel factions in order to take out Assad and have one body the other natons can deal with.

"The Pentagon has told the Obama administration that any military effort to seize

Exclusive: U.S. Sees Syria Prepping Chemical Weapons for Possible Attack:

"Engineers working for the Assad regime in Syria have begun combining the two
chemical precursors needed to weaponize sarin gas, an American official with
knowledge of the situation tells Danger Room. International observers are now
more worried than they’ve even been that the Damascus government could use
its nerve agent stockpile to slaughter its own people.

The U.S. doesn’t know why the Syrian military made the move, which began in
the middle of last week and is taking place in central Syria. Nor are they sure why
the Assad government is transferring some weapons to different locations within
the country, as the New York Times reported on Monday.

All that’s certain is that the arms have now been prepped to be used, should
Assad order it.

“Physically, they’ve gotten to the point where the can load it up on a plane and
drop it,” the official adds."

It wasn't much likely to end well from the start...

The real question is, will Russia and China stop to protect Assad if his troops use chemical weapon ? Iran isn't likely to drop him to anything but its support will mean much less if the big supportors stop.

If they don't, I hope Russia and China are prepared for a massive penalty in the domain of diplomacy if they carry on supporting Assad after he uses chemical weapons. It's one thing to support someone, but it is stupid to sit there and do nothing when an "ally" is about to do something totally reckless such as this.

I really don't know what Russia is doing in this. At least, they knew where to stop and tell Slobodan Milosevic to eat shit when he went too far with genocide against Albanians in Kosovo.
