Somehow looking at this reminds me of Memories Off 2nd.... it's a good feeling too. I love that series, with a wonderful OST I brought with me everywhere apparently. Wow, looking at it now it really is old but it never gets old |

I tend to really gravitate towards idol anime, with the presence of several forms of cute inspired girls certainly helping. The iDOLM@STER was entertaining, AKB0048 was good, and Love Live was downright awesome.
So I'll keep an eye on this, but I'm a little worried about the Fractale director being in charge. |

In this case it's different because the writer (Okada) was scripting a story develped by Hiroki Azuma. The problem is Azuma didn't even know how his own story was supposed to end. In fact, Yamakan himself had to come up with an ending to try salvage the project (an attempt that failed, of course).
I think Okada did the best she could with what she was given to work with.

I don't blame Mari here(unlike AnoHana), I blame Azuma but I still think that so much hate for Yamakan is exaggeration. Yes, he is sometimes extreme in his speeches but he is not the bad director.

... And there goes my enthusiasm, lol. Well, I suppose really great seiyu performances could make up for it.
I'm shifting expectations from "Could this be the next Love Live!?" to "... Poor Man's Love Live". Hopefully it'll be a decent watch at least.

For me a maker or breaker will be if they use cgi for performance sequences. Those really put me off in Love Live and akb4008.
Im@s made a huge impression on me, but part of that was not only the charas and personalities but also the setting worked for me. In Love Live the school setting didn't really work for me, and the sci fi setting of akb4008 was one of the main things that made me drop the series 1/2 way through. So setting will be another important part. That being said, the charas and their personalities are the big sales point for me, and here Im@s ran away with the prize for me. Love Live's idols were also nice, and akb4008's weren't bad either - don't get me wrong. Oh yeah. The music part of things! lol Both Im@s and akb4008 already had a large storeroom of music to draw on, while Love Live much less so. I wonder how WuGirls will fare? Basically starting from scratch, I'd guess? Anyway, in all these things "sameface" is not so much an issue (at least for me personally it isn't), so unless it gets super bad I am still willing to give the series a shot at least. ^^
