Aveline Vallen is a soldier, a master of sword and shield, and a tireless guardian... to a point. The daughter of an exiled chevalier, Aveline is not the knight her father wished her to be. Although fully trained in chivalrous combat, she was raised in the shadow of a lost life and will not lose another for the sake of honor. Protecting her adopted home of Kirkwall becomes a chosen duty, not a privileged calling. The people she stands for will not be wasted on lost causes or protecting the foolish from themselves. Pride can be bandaged like any other wound—when threats are dead and everyone is safely home.

I'm just glad that we have more female character The first game only has two(though with great quality ) and I just feel limited about my romance choice as a guy----I don't want to choose Zevran etc because somehow that feels wrong

forget two? sure you cant romance them but why does that matter?

I bet this new chick isnt romancable. and why make her pretty? I belive if she was pretty looking, I doubt she could wield that sword and shield like that.

Is Aveline gonna be a permanent companion? I know she and her husband (templar) join the gang while fleeing from Lothering, but I never thought she would be somebody important?

I have the feeling Dragon Age 2 is going to be the same as Dragon Age.. Or if I remember right, your character is a permanent male with no other options... Of course that might be wrong, but if it isn't we might see some interesting things involving relationships go on in Dragon Age 2

In Dragon Age II, you will play as Hawke, who can either be male or female, but always human.

Now we have to wait Morgana DA2 vers.

Off-topic . While waiting DA2 , currently i'm playing Drakensang(kinda like DAO) somebody already played this game? I found that it's a very good game with many talent system.
