The balance....what is it? That will definitely be a question. Anakin brought balance to the Force. This has been stated. The question eventually becomes....what balanced did he bring? The end of the Sith? Luke? We'll find out.

I suspect that for the lightsaber battles, along with HOPEFULLY showing that Luke is an incredibly powerful Jedi/Force User, they're pulling what was done with Godzilla: saving it for us to see in theaters. Assuming, of course, that the actual trailer (I guess this was still just a teaser?) doesn't show us.

Well....that teaser was ok. You can make an exciting teaser. This one...just existed. It wasn't bad. But I didn't get any excitement out of it. Episode 7 had that hype factor for just existing. This one doesn't get that. Need a bit more.
This is the movie I'm more curious about. E7 was just re-doing a New Hope. But here they can start getting interesting with it. They've got the general audience hooked, so now just do something interesting. Hopefully they can handle light saber battles better. When you have two people with incredible abilities fighting with laser swords...you have to make that entertaining. Fingers crossed. Will look forward to the end of the year. Quote:

Look at the poster and notice how Reys' lightsaber extends and changes from blue to red... hmm. The voice saying that the Jedi need to end could be Benicio del Toros' character talking. Also, I hope Finn isn't stuck in a coma for too long.

Well the Jedi council was clearly corrupt. They assumed that the Sith were no more and as such no longer follow the light. They don't know why they even exist for. Thus they ceased to be.

Watching that teaser, that thing with the books on the shelf gave me Dark Souls vibes, like real strong ones even though they are obviously completely unrelated. I kind of hope they do go for a proper balance thing rather than Light and Dark, get some nice grey going on.

Now Luke will be able to train Rey the way Yoda trained him!
Note: Looks like someone else made the same realization. |

Politically manipulated to get the Senate to vote to give the Chancellor of the Republic emergency powers so that he might enact a standing army at the behest of the Republic and the Jedi to combat the perceived threat of the Separatist movement towards war based on information provided by a Jedi Knight (Obi-wan Kenobi) on the massing of a Droid Army on Geonosis. An illegal army perhaps depending on what was suppose to happen to the Trade Federation after the Battle of Naboo some ten years earlier.
Palpatine and the Jedi both needed someone how would not be seen as threatening to introduce the motion to the Senate. Senator Amidala was invoked, but not present (I doubt Padme would approve of the raising of an Army, though I cannot guarantee that she'd not also call for the Chancellor to be given emergency powers, since he did manipulate her into calling for a vote of no confidence ten years before. She'd probably hope more for the powers to be used for more direct negotiations and getting past the usual Senatorial red tape in dealing with the corporations and their armies, so they could again avoid what happened on Naboo due to procedures stalling the Senate from acting). So Representative Binks was....elected to be the one to do it. Interestingly enough, if one looks at the deleted bits from Revenge of the Sith, Jar Jar Binks was part of the Delegation of 2000 that wanted Palpatine to return his powers to the Senate at the end of the emergency (the Clone Wars). So he wasn't completely stupid, but easily manipulated when it seemed like it was for the greater good (from both the Jedi's and Palpatine's public point of view).
